I love my school and get along great with the other students. My professors are easily accessible, which is great for my success. I love that Quincy is very diverse. My experience has been great so far and I would definitely recommend Quincy to anyone.

Megan - 01/18/2019

Quincy University is a great school and a very friendly environment. Blessed to go here.

Rachel - 05/23/2018

Quincy University is a good school, but there are some improvements that could be made. There should be more clubs and outside events that students can afford to go to and be able to enjoy going to. Granted, the university life is lively, but there are still some students who don't feel like they can be involved because of money issues. Money is also an issue on campus, because several students transfer or have to take a semester off in order to pay the school to continue their education. It's not fair to those students who worked hard to get where they are just to have to take semesters off or even transfer to cheaper schools that can help them better.

Reginald - 08/14/2017

The university is a great experience to showcase how it feels to being a college oriented town. The cost will definitely defer some of their potential students away however the class sizes are wonderful and the professors offer hands-on learning. The food is not a good selling point but the school is still worth it.

Quincy University FAQS

  1. What is the Acceptance Rate at Quincy University?

The fall 2020 acceptance rate for Quincy University is 66%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020 , _____ students were offered admission. The number of males who applied was _____ vs the number of females which was _____.

  2. What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

One of the most important things to do in finding the right college, is to do research. Doing research on a specific college or university will allow the student and the parent to choose wisely. Sometimes it is not about what the campus looks like or where it is located. I believe that it is important to know what the college has to offer: degrees, majors, activities, and tuition costs. It is also good to know if the college or university will be beneifical and will meet the needs for the career that the student wishes to pursue. As far as getting the most out of the college experience, there are plenty of nice people on campus to make friends with. Getting involved in sports, campus clubs, and campus clubs will help with social life. In my opinion, I think that living in a dorm during freshmen year will help a student connect more to the campus and build a friendship with many people living in the dorm. However it is really up to the student to make a college experience worth their while.

  3. Describe how your school looks to someone who's never seen it.

QU is small, laid-back, not very academically challenging, and Catholic only in name but not in practice.

  4. What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?

There wasn't a lot that I didn't like about the school, but I guess the one big drawback of Quincy University was housing. The dorms and campus apartments are starting to show their age, and compared to other universities, I would say that QU is below average in this department. From what I hear, they have plans to do some remodeling and possibly will be building a new dorm or two in the near future, and I hope this is in fact the case.

  6. What's the most frustrating thing about your school?

The maintenance staff is not very good and did not do anything when my roommate and I were up for hours every night it rained because our window leaked. The dorms were typically always loud and it was hard to study at night. I attended Quincy University for the 2012-2013 school year but I am transferring to St. Ambrose for my 2013-2014 school year because I like their nursing program and the up to date equipment that I believe will help me to accomplish my dream of being a nurse.

I absolutely loved the small community feel that Quincy University had. Because of the small class sizes, I was able to get to know my professors on a more personal level, which was very beneficial to me and the other students. Quincy University had a lot of wonderful traditions to get students involved that you just don't find at other larger schools in larger communities. Overall, Quincy is a very supportive community which takes a lot of pride in the success of the university and the students and faculty who make that success happen.
