I love it

It’s a wonderful environment to learn and experience life while learning new things about yourself and how you deal with things.

Datreona - 06/09/2020

Presbyterian College is great school to learn because the main focus is getting a full liberal arts education. The teachers like for the students to assert their opinions into all discussions. The college campus is pretty safe except for a few incidents that have occurred. Their plenty of clubs and activities that students can get involved in . The campus is small which allows for all the students, faculty and staff to know each other.

PC is not your typical college, for starters, it is the smallest Division 1 college in the nation. The location is in a very small historic city with the nearest Walmart 15 minutes away. If you want to see the city you can either drive an hour to Colombia and an hour to Clemson or 45 minutes to Greenville. The majority of people are athletes as having all been recruited by PC the student that are not athletes are natives of close cities in South Carolina. The campus is small but nice making everything within walking distance. The housing at PC is hit or miss as Georgia Hall dorms are by far the nicest dorms to offer but the newly built apartment-style rooms are very appealing to all students to stay in. Food options are also hit or miss having only two buildings for food the cafeteria called GDH and springs which includes a boar's head sandwich shop and Moe's inside. I believe if you are an athlete and have a strong group of friends that you hang out with you can make your time they're manageable. In my opinion but if you are an athlete and do not like the circumstances that you are in and all your friends are transferring out makes it very difficult for you to enjoy your time there.

  2. What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

From my college experience, I've gotten confidence and motivation. The community here at school has taught me how to be who I am and how to love that person no matter what. I finally have a plan for my life and am excited to see it unfold. The dedication and patience shown to me at this school have changed who I am and who I want to be, and therefore, have changed my life. I now know how I can lead my life to be a better person and to help others, and that is the best thing I could have asked for in college.

  3. Describe your favorite campus traditions.

Parties at fraternity houses, basketball camps for high school teams, its silly mascot (the Blue Hose), being a private, liberal-arts school, what's known as "The PC Bubble," which describes the seclusion from the outside world, both because the school is in the middle of nowhere, and because the students can be closed-minded and naive when it comes to the bigger picture. In a lot of ways, PC is similar to high school, due to its small size and rural location that keep everyone very close together.

  9. What's unique about your campus?

My favorite thing about Presbyterian College is the professors. The professors here strive to get to know you and really have your best interest in mind. They take the time to learn your name, what learning techniques work best for each student, and try to incoorporate all those techniques into lecture. If you aren't doing well in a class the professor will pull you aside or e-mail you and ask how they can help you do better. It's a really nice feeling knowing your professors care so much about your success.

  10. What kind of person should not attend this school?

PC is a tough school. If you are the kind of student who is content with doing little to no work and just sliding by, don't come to PC. The professors are always happy to help you do better, but only if you care enough to want to do better. If you do little to no work here, you will fail. Lazy students and students who do not really care about their education should not come to PC.

  11. What's the most frustrating thing about your school?

The meal plan is too expensive for the quality (you might as well eat at one of the local restaurants for every meal and not optional for students living on campus. The meal plan is also very inconvenient for students with special food needs; it should be optional.

  12. What kind of person should attend this school?

The type of person who should attend this school would be someone with morals and a high sense of self respect. Someone who likes to have fun and socialize, but knows when to buckle down and work hard. Someone with a sense of direction in life and a strong will to achieve. Most students are very serious about school and make focusing on school work their top priority, followed closely by strong involvement in extra-curricular activities. Everybody is very friendly and accepting of one another, allowing strong expression of individuality without concern for what others may think.
