I have the advisors at NECC to thank for my career path. I have 2 associate's degrees from NECC, and a career I love. I paid up front for classes, and never had to take out a loan. The campuses are small, but I like it that way. Both campuses were within driving distance and easily accessible for me.

jasmine - 09/23/2019

I love the professors. I love the class size. The food is not the best. I like how the campus is small.

Kira - 08/03/2019

Overall my experience at NECC was rather mediocre. There was nothing especially heinous about it and the general area was nice ( I took classes on Haverhill campus) and they have a lot of additional course opportunities. However management was not great and thus I'm very excited to be transferring to a 4 year private college to finish my education.

Northern Essex is the only community college in my vicinity but, the greatest option between schools in Massachusetts. My first semester there was amazing. My teachers were very nice and helped as much as they could. The college has two campuses which can make you have the "college experience" and honestly is great! There's many options for night and day school as the people there always try to work around your schedule. There are many people of different ages at Northern Essex because it is a college for anyone ! Everyone can go there and start their education!

Northern Essex Community College FAQS

  1. What is the Acceptance Rate at Northern Essex Community College?

The fall 2020 acceptance rate for Northern Essex Community College is 100%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020 , _____ students were offered admission. The number of males who applied was _____ vs the number of females which was _____.

  2. What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

When I was applying for college, I was going for the name, not for the education. I assumed that because Northern Essex was a community college that it couldn't possibly provide the same level of education as UNH or UConn. Now that I've gone to Northern Essex I know that its equal and in some ways its better. I wish I had known all this back when I was a high school senior. As fart as the transition into college, I would tell myself that everyone has there own way of coping with all the differences. Some are going to focus more on the partying and the drinking, but that's not the way for me. College is what you make of it; whether you're living on campus or commuting back and forth. The best way to get through it is to make quality friends, study hard, and focus on your studies because that's what you're there for- the education not the partying.

  5. Describe your favorite campus traditions.

In high school, my classmates and I would generally refer to Northern Essex Community College as a 'fake' school. Perhaps, the fact that the school accepts all applicants and emits a lower-than-standard GPA may be to blame. However, others respect the school for just that. Everybody is welcome without basis on the decorative content of a high school r?sum
