I am a student that will be attending Morningside College next year. When I stepped on campus it felt like home right away. The school has a great culture and athletics are extremely impressive. They won the football national championship two years in a row and the basketball team is number 1 in the country. I am really excited to be a Mustang next year!

Megan - 07/07/2019

Morningside College affords its students many opportunities, however, there are a lot of financial issues. Also the food in the cafeteria is absolutely horrendous.

Korbyn - 06/26/2019

Morningside is known for multiple reasons but most importantly for its academics and sports teams. Most students that attend Morningside are there for either a sports team or the nursing/business program. Being a smaller school means that class sizes are smaller and you are able to have a close relationship with your professors and get all the assitance you need. Being a minority student, I have encountered some racial issues on campus as well in the community which is not something I enjoy dealing with. Overall, I enjoy attending Morningside.

Alexandrea - 05/19/2019

It is a great school with great professors. There are a lot of good opportunities for students to expand their horizons. Class sizes are generally small so you have the ability to actually talk to our professors and learn with hands-on activities. The professors and other people really seem to care about you and the on-campus jobs are really flexible.

  2. What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

If I could go back and talk to myself as a high school senior, I would tell myself not to have taken so many easy classes. I'd say to myself to keep challenging yourself as much as possible and pay attention to everything your teachers are putting in front of you, becuase that's what the professors in college are going to do. I'd also tell myself not to worry so much about the small things because once you're out of that small town everything just seems to dissappear and only the things that really matter will follow you into college.

  16. What are the most popular student activities/groups?

Because Morningside has a lot of athletes, athletic events are very popular. Especially our football and basketball events. Some of the largest organizations are the student government and MAC. MAC is the counsel that bring all sorts of events and programs to Morningside like comedians, bands, and comics. The social life is pretty lively here, for the most part I would say a great majority of the students at Morningside like to party. But the minority of students that don't are not outcasted in any way, its just more common to meet a student that loves to get drunk on a Saturday night than it is to meet a student who likes to read on a Saturday night.

The academic life is good at Morningside. The largest class I have ever been in was 30 people, but most classes are around 20 people. The professors are very accessible and actually know you. 18. Is the stereotype of students at your school accurate?

These stereotypes, for the most part, are accurate. The majority of the school population are white, and a large percentage of the students are also involved in athletics. But you don't have to be an athlete, there are a lot of other clubs and activities to get involved with such as theater, choir, student government, the television network and the campus radio station. There are a good chunk on students that are not from the Midwest, and a lot of kids come from all different kinds of backgrounds.
