Millikin University Top Questions

The worst thing would be the amount of diversity that is promoted and the lack of actual diversity on campus

The lack of appreciation by the students to the faculty, staff, and facilities. The people who work at Millikin spend a lot of time trying to make Millikin a great university and I feel like a lot of students take that for granted.

The tuition is very high because of the Universitys status as a private college, but even with the high costs the university is in debt because the state of Illinois does not have the funding to fund any of the universities.

This is a tough question. My experience has been fantastic. However, if I had to choose one thing that I didn't like, it would have to be the food. I am not a picky eater. I am an athlete and need to get to the cafeteria after practice which is right around the time the cafeteria closes. Therefore, the food has been sitting out for a while and isn't always the freshest. I feel they should stay open a little later for the athletes or have other options to choose from.

Millikin sits in a part of Decatur that is known for gang violence, low-income, and homelessness. This, unfortunately, puts students at a very high risk. Millikin does a great job with security but there are always those few instances that slip by so it can be scary at times.

Millikin university seems to not care enough about the students of color that attend this university, instead they concentrate on the international students that come in and makes the university look more diverse. Meanwhile, other minority students are not getting the financial aid or academic assistance that they need, deserve and pay for.

During freshman year the classes I took didn't pertain to my major at all.
