What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year at Mesa Community College?

College is about throwing yourself outside of your comfort zone. Don't be afraid to do just that. Talk to people you don't know. Join clubs and activities you otherwise wouldn't have tried.

I wish I would have know about work study before I came to Mesa Community College.

Coming from a high school in a very conservative small town near Grand Rapids, Michigan, I was met with a definite culture shock. There is such a diverse student body, and although that isn't necessarily a bad thing, it was a little rough on me.

I wish i had known what my major was going to be before i enrolled. Knowing what your career goals are makes enrolling for classes much easier and will save one a lot of time and money because classes for one degree will not be used or count for another.
