I love that Marian University provides a high-standard education, has student interaction in classes and labs, and is a community in the Catholic Church. The professors value the potential and value of each student, not considering students as numbers or data.

My time at this institution so far has been amazing. The smaller campus experience offers lots of accessibility to resources and study halls. It also improves social life and communication, as it is hard to miss a single student in your time there. Each professor and tutor is very dedicated to their work and want their students to succeed. Also, a lot of events and clubs at the university are very interesting and worth attending. I would not trade it for anywhere else.

I really love the campus and the atmosphere of this place. The campus police are always there to keep me feeling safe. I am on the track team here and everyone on the team makes feel like a part of the team. I'm pretty sure all of the sports are like that. Overall, this place is very nice and if you can get a scholarship to go here, I would say take this college into consideration.

Marian University has a great reputation for a good education that prepares a student for post-graduation and for those searching for second degree or masters/doctorate programs. They have numerous resources to support a student before, during, and after graduation. Their admissions counselors are supportive and informative. Professors, guidance counselors, tutors, career counselors, and internship coordinators all have a place during the student's college experience to help with post-graduation and support in career placement and career finding. They are known for their health science programs and degrees including their Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, their Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists program, and their Accelerated Bachelor in Science of Nursing program. The cost of the university overcompensates the resources. The price of the school, especially for a second-degree student, is outrageous, unnecessary, and causes long-term debt and we do not receive any support regarding the cost of the university. So regarding education, you will have great outcomes, but you will have to weigh the costs. You can definitely find other schools that provide educational support at a lower cost.

  2. What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

In high school, my grades were low and my commitment to education was even lower. I made a choice when going to college to put my best foot forward with studying and work ethic...and I succeeded. My college experience changed my life due to that small choice that I made to really make a difference. My advice would be to whoever it is going into college; don't ever be discouraged that you can't do it, it may seem frightening but if you set your mind to it, you will succeed. Second, get involved. Get involved in anyway that you can. Before I realized it, I was leading organizations, making decisions about the college and helping others out along the way. These experiences have allowed me to grow as an individual and enhance my professional experience beyond anything I could have ever imagined. The power is really within each student and having the faith and courage to see it is key. The transition to college can be difficult, but if given the right chance, each student can lead and grow by making the first step.

Marian College offers the opportunity to not only gain an exceptional education but gain experience in many other areas to build a professional profile. I attended Marian College as an undergraduate and am going back for a second undergraduate degree and my experience far outlived anything that I expected to. Not only was I provided a defining educational experience, but I experienced leadership skills that will carry with me throughout my professional career in the future. I was given the experience to be a student leader and for my voice to be heard.

  13. What do you brag about most when you tell your friends about your school?

The student body community and staff members of Marian. Automatically a student has a “family” when attending Marian. Everyone is friendly, and experiences the Franciscan values even if they are not Catholic (like myself) The staff and faculty are like big brothers/sisters, parents or mentors to the students. Marian isn’t just a higher education institution, but also a familistic atmosphere. Two of the staff members of a residential buildings are my mentors, and we talk and laugh about anything.
