What should every freshman at your school know before they start?
I should have listened to my mother. School does matter. Boyfriends don’t. Her lifelong advice for me has been to be happy, honest and smart. I always had a plan of working with animals. I knew I would need a bachelor’s degree. Leaving home would be necessary in order to attend a four year school. As choices go, I made the wrong one. Instead of following the plan, I chose to stay home and attend community college. Now there is nothing wrong with community college. Changing my plan to stay near my boyfriend was not a good choice. The boyfriend lasted until school started in September. I was not happy and, if I was being honest, I had to acknowledge that I had not made a smart choice. I should have listened to my mother. She knew because she had made a similar choice years ago. If the boyfriend is the right one he will still be there after college. so now, I am listening to my mom. I am honestly happy to say I made the smart decision to enroll at Friends University in the Zoo Science program. I am going to college and following my plan.

What kind of person should not attend this school?
I don't think there is really a specific type of person who shouldn't attend LCCC. If they aren't motivated, goal oriented, or prepared than I don't think they should attend. If they aren't going to try than what is the point? I think that if anyone would want to attend, they will succeed if they try.

What's unique about your campus?
I consider the faculty/staff to be the best thing about my school, Laramie County Community College. They make an extreme effort to make your learning experience everything that you pay for as well as entertaining. Every staff memeber on this campus is warm and comical. The anecdotes and surrondings, in the efforts of the staff, make the day smooth and less stressful than when the day begins. I look forward to coming to campus each day to sit in the company of the people that make my education beyond my expectations.

What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?
It would be the way they treat one of my Professors (Mr. Z). He's a brilliant man very knowledge. He's one of those professors you see in movies quoting things out of books he read years ago and teaching off the top of his head because he KNOWS the material. The school itself doesn't agree with his methods and are fighting with him to teach their "New and Improved" cirriculum, which by the sounds of it is kind of "dumbed down". It's even gotten so bad that they won't let him write his own syllabus.
