What is the stereotype of students at Knox College?

Knox students are often stereotyped as strange and liberal. From Galesburg residents' perspective, Knox students are often (but not always) seen as rich kids who have too much to say.

Knox is pretty much percieved as a haven for extreme liberals, hippies, athesists. Its students are generally stereotyped as smart kids who aren't quite at the Ivy League level, but that may be because Knox students definately party.

I have heard that all students at Knox are a bunch of weirdos. I have also heard that everyone at Knox is gay. I hear lots of people talk about the 'Knox bubble,' where students and faculty tend to shut themselves off from the so-called 'townies.'
