There are so many things to do on campus that it's hard to define top ones. I can personally account for the fantastic choir and the family that we form each year. The sports teams also have their families that they form. I love coming back to campus after Thanks Giving and training with the swim team for two weeks, going off campus for meets and spending all of our time together. It really strengthens our bonds as teammates, and I'm sure the same goes for the basketball and wresting teams that come back over the break too.
There are always club activities too and I love when the cultural clubs/houses put on barbecues or food fairs and show campus the cuisine from other countries. To add to the international theme, the Holi event in Spring term is always very popular and well attended.

Knox has over 100 clubs and student organizations on campus. There are so many different types of clubs from religious and culture clubs, craft club, gardening club, political clubs, LGBTQ clubs, and so many more. There are varsity sports on campus as well as intermural if you just want to play something for fun. Knox is always bringing entertainment to campus, we have a student organization called Union Board that brings comedy groups, poets, singers, movies and a lot of fun activities to campus, and since the group is made up of students they all know what we like to do for fun. Contrary to popular belief, Greek life is only 25{4a082faed443b016e84c6ea63012b481c58f64867aa2dc62fff66e22ad7dff6c} of our campus, this means it is the minority of students, so everyone is welcome to participate but not forced to, and it does not control the social life. There are social events on campus all the time. If you do not like to go to parties, there are always other options for entertainment on campus.

Student Senate is probably one of the largest student groups on campus.

And not necessarily in a good way. Because it's a small town everything shuts down at 2AM!! No it's not a typo, TWO AM. Major no bueno, if you're from a big city like me. Even if you're not, it's effin college! No one's night should end at two in the morning. Technical foul! Even campus parties, at 1:59am you will see campus safety pulling up onto the fat houses and they will gladly walk into the house like their name is on the lease to make sure every one is on their way out of the door. The bars close at two as well. smh, no words. I'm just glad I'm on break right now and back home in one of the greatest cities ever. Who am I kidding, the greatest (haha I know shameless plug, but idc!). But there honestly, like I previously said are other outlets and plenty of homework to help keep you occupied! Also, because there are so many people from different backgrounds, you will have some good friends to help occupy your time as well.

Knox is decidedly not a huge party school, although frat life is fairy active and many students do drink. Campus activities tend to be moderately attended. Mostly, students enjoy creatively entertaining themselves. Many get together on a weekend just to catch up on the news, watch TV together, chase each other around the dorms, or even create a Persian (as opposed to Greek) society.
A few clubs at Knox are very active, mostly those concerned with human rights. Many of the others only consist in a few students, but if you can garner enough interest, it is ridiculously easy to create a new club.
As for friends and dating, it is very easy to get together with interesting and interested people. However, it becomes difficult if there are disagreements, because it is impossible to go a day without seeing the person you are angry with, or who is angry with you, which can be very painful.

Youll be living in the middle of nowhere. You have to make your own fun and very often this includes drinking.

Despite the small size of Galesburg, there is so much going on within our campus that many students don't even notice their surroundings at all and exist in what we call the "Knox bubble." Plays go up almost every week, dance shows, art shows, sports events, and events put on by the Union Board are always going on as well. Students spend their time with the clubs and organizations they choose to involve themselves in. Free time can be spent how you want: you could hang out with your friends or fill your time with club meetings, IM and NCAA sports, or working on academic projects. The living environment for first years at Knox is extremely conducive to meeting your closest friends at Knox as these people become much like your college family and share in everything with you. Many of the groups paired together in their first year, continue to live together for the rest of their time at Knox. Parties definitely go on during the weekend, but it is by no means the only option for socializing.
The Greek organizations on campus have a strong presence, but one that is much different from the stereotyped images of Greek life nationally. Members are highly involved in other organizations on campus and the groups definitely reinforce the often ignored positive aspects of Greek life such as leadership development, the creation of support systems, and social and philanthropic involvement.

If there's a topic, there's a club, and they're pretty much willing to accept anyone.
Campus life is often busy. There are constanly quest speakers, productions, performances, and just play time. Movies are frequently offered and if there isn't something going on, then the dorms become the fun houses where friends meet to talk and play video games or board games. It's very close-knit community that remains active.

Could be more social, however, social life is at a level where it doesn't seriously threaten your chance to participate in extra curricular activities or Greek life, for example.
