Kalamazoo College Top Questions

What do you consider the worst thing about Kalamazoo College? Why?

Michelle

I would not categorize the location of my school worse but unfortunate. I wish K was closer to home so I won't be homesick but otherwise than that everything else is fantastic.

Matthew

Financial aid seems to be quite stingy and I question a number of ways the school allocates its resources. Tuition increases followed by outlandish proposals serve to show a disconnect between the school and the public sentiment.

Rebecca

The only down side of Kalamazoo College is its location. While Kalamazoo is a nice community it is small and has very little to offer college students outside of campus activities. While it has a vibrant arts community a college student's budget doesn't allow for taking in much of what is offered. We are really dependent on what happens on campus and the friends we make for a life outside of academics and studying. The harsh winter weather also limits what one can do at times.

Saskia

The academic life can be very grueling at time, mostly because Kalamazoo is on the quarter system so terms are just ten weeks long.

Colleen

The cafeteria food

Kelly

Competitiveness.

Rachel

the competition, because it was very stressful at times

Evan

Lack of school activities, or at least professionalism on them such as the school paper.

Paul

There is very little school/community spirit.
