Its great school to complete classes before entering into the work force or college. They have great professors that will help you when needed. Totally recommend attending this Community College. I take classes that will help me figure out what my career will be. I plan to be architect and taking the required classes to transfer to a college after two years. This college is also affordable as it provides scholarships for students to complete this helps pay for classes, books, and fees.

John Tyler Community College is a safe and clean school. The campus is beautiful and the teacher are passionate about teaching. The counselors are also passionate about what they do too. All of the staff wants what's best for you and helps you step by step to complete your goal. I love it here. I wish it was a four year school.

I loved John Tyler Community College. My Professors were amazing, class sizes were small and my education was great. It also saved me so much money and helped prepare me for a four year college! There are a variety of clubs and social events that helped me meet new people and create good memories.

It’s more of a standard school. While the layout is beautiful, it’s definitely not a university or anything like that. It sort of feels like I’m still in Highschool. The teachers do car about student succeeding buy I almost feel that they should care more because a lot of the times, transfer students run into difficulty, and I feel the advisors might not handle it the best.

    What is unique about John Tyler is that the teachers truly care about their students, and want you to challenge yourself to grow as a person and as an artist/designer/scientist, or whatever you are majoring in. I am doing projects I've never done before, like video and sculpture, and it is showing me a whole new way to discover the world and myself. John Tyler helps you achieve your goals, one class at a time. It is a ton of fun. They are also more cost-effective, and friendly, much more so than J. Sargeant Reynolds.

    For a CC, in my small sample space, the professors are great, as good as could be found at a 4 year school I believe.

  13. Describe how your school looks to someone who's never seen it.

    JTCC is a great school. They campus is pretty small but very nice. They used to just have two buidings: Business and an Acedemic building but since there is a lot of students going there, they had to make a new building called the Science building. It is a very clean and secure buildings. They have security systems in the parking lots. Also, they offer students to sign up for tyler alert, which keeps them updates with news and weather conditions etc. The way they have set up their schedules is great. It is the best school in Richmond, Virginia.

    The people who should not attend john tyler are people with majors in mind that are uncommon such as music majors, hair dressers, or film majors. There are prerequisite classes available for majors such as these but there are not many.

  16. What's the most frustrating thing about your school?

    That I am not viewed as under 24 self sufficient. I live on my own, pay for all my bills, and receive no help finanically from my parents. I have lived on my own for almost two years once January 2010 comes around. I need all the help I can get since I only make 9.00/hour. I work full time and go to school part time. I am trying to prove that I am self sufficient to help myself currently.
