If I went back in time I would inform myself not to mess around when it comes to the real world. Choose a career path that really holds your interest and go for it. I chose a field that was extremely easy just to have an education and I never used the degree. Now eleven years and three children later, I am attending college for the second time and going for a degree that I should have went for the first time. Life is to short and hard to play around with. Make a decision and go for it. You may not have the rest of your life to complete things slowly. If you do it right the first time then you won't have to make different choices that effect your whole family.

I would tell myself that going to college is fun, challenging, and can be very rewarding. I would also tell myself that in order to succeed in college, you have to be very self -disciplined and be able to concentrate on what you're doing. You have to manage your time successfully, and don't let your personal life interfere with with your studies.
I would also tell myself that if you're not doing so well in the course objective you have chosen, and if you're losing interest in that course objective as time goes by, then instead of continuing on struggling day by day to keep up and learn the material, then maybe it's time to change direction and find another course objective that you might be better at and more comfortable with learning, and also find one that you're going to be happy with going into as a chosen career path.
I would tell myself that college level courses are very, very time-consuming. Many of them require a lot of hard work. College is what you make of it. If you can succeed at it, then later on you can reap the rewards.

What advice I would give myself, if I could go back in time and talk to myself as a high school senior would be to not freak out. It's natural to be a little nervous going to someplace you have never been and starting new. I would make sure that I did a little more college scouting, like vist more campuses, especially the ones where I was most interested in. Don't wait till the last minute. Every day is essential, so make the most out of everyday your in school. Get as much information as you can from your school about the different colleges you want to go to. Call ahead, and get to know your new roomate before you move in. This will help with your transition into living with a stranger. The more you can learn about each other before hand the better you will get along when time comes to be roomies. Just take a deep breath and everything will work out and be okay. Also, apply for as many scholarships as you can.

I would tell myself to start college as soon as I get out of high school. Concentrate on school only, and to do my best. I would tell myself to go to Ivy Tech because I think this type of school is right for me, and fits best with the way I learn. I would tell myself that high school drama doesn't matter in college, all that matters is education and that your doing your best at what you are learning. I would also tell myself that by being respectful and polite, people will respect me back and listen, and value my opinions as well.
