Iowa State University Top Questions

What do you brag about most when you tell your friends about Iowa State University?

Cameron

I brag about our sports and the atmosphere experiencing them. In football this year, we beat our state rival, the Iowa Hawkeyes, which is bragging rights for a year. Perhaps the biggest game in our history was this past fall (2011) when Iowa State beat the No.2 team in the nation, Oklahoma State, at home. Other things I brag about are 800+ clubs that ISU offers. The food is at or exceeds restaurant quality and is delcious. The campus is open and beautiful to walk through, and everyone at ISU knows how to have a good time.

Sarah

My agriculture classes, I love them. My room mates, I love them.

I would brag about how friendly and widespread the environment is. I love the "big college" atmosphere Iowa State University offers, because it gives me the opportunity to continually meet new people and have new experiences that weren't offered in my high school. There are so many classes, clubs and activies to choose from too. There is just so much to do, you're never bored. I love my college!

Benjamin

We have one of the top engineering departments in the United States. Where some schools have one building for engineering we have like 10 buildings.

Nicholas

It has very good classes and the teachers actually care.

Sara

There is always something going on at this school. The sporting events are great, regardless of what sport and whether or not we win, lots of students and fans come out to support. The academics are outstanding. I especially brag about the design program. It is challenging and applicable to real life jobs. It has all the benefits and opportunities of a large University, but has the aspects of tight-knit commnities of small colleges

Ashley

Iowa State is located in a great community. It is a very safe campus and you do not have to worry about walking alone at night. Unlike most other campuses Iowa State offers a lot of activities on the weekend, and you do not have to drink to have a good time. Iowa State also has great professors who are willing to take time out of their busy schedule to help their students.

Amanda

I definitely brag about how beautiful the campus is. The buildings are modern and gorgeous and the town overall is very peaceful. Little violence.
