The best advice I would give a parent or student about finding the right college is patience. Everyone feels the need to find a college as soon as they become a senior in high school. Parents, if you wait and let things just flow for a while, the students will find a college that sticks out in their heart. Students always have plenty of time and no matter what the college says, they will always be open for them. If they didn't have them, they wouldn't exist. Parents, patience is the peacekeeper in finding the right college. When you have faith in letting things play out for awhile, you give the students time to let them evaluate the pros and cons of each college. For some amazing reason, they get a tug at their heart most of the time when they feel like they found the right institution. With that being said, I suggest they just pick their five top colleges, make a list of why they chose them, and whichever three have the most positive feedback, contact those colleges for all the information you can get. Parents, you will find true happiness with steady patience.
