What is the stereotype of students at Indiana University of Pennsylvania-Main Campus?

Kayla

There are some stereotypes that all people that go to IUP party, drink, and/or are rednecks.

Toni

Many people think that all students who go to IUP are all about partying, since it is sterotyped as a partying school. I would just like to disagree, because it is not true. I am becoming a senior in the fall, and the partying scene has not been apart of my college career since I've started, and I know many others who are the same.

Hunter

Before I came here I was under the impression that it was a crazy party school. However, although the students like to have a good time just like any other college, I haven't found it to be in excess. It's just the right amount of partying!

John

They party hard and it "dirty"

Theresa

The same as any other colleges . Studnets Drink Excessivly and party alot.

Laura

The biggest stereotype is that IUP students are party students who are only in college for the party.

Whitney

Some stereotypes of IUP are a party school, classes you can blow off and still pass, an easy degree, and "13th grade" for many of the local high schools.

Maureen

I think IUP gets a reputation for being this huge party school and well I can't disagree that you can probably always find a party. I think that a school is what you make it though. Any and every school can be a party school. It's up to the student what they make of their college years.

Kristina

Of course, there's the big stereotype that every student goes out and parties all the time. Also, IUP isn't always a college that people think of as having great academic programs - people think of it as middle of the road.

Suzie

That they always have parties and drink.
