Emerson is such a centralized environment; students here are driven by things they absolutely love. We know what we want, and how to get it. We have unbelievable resources, including faculty, that help make this school current and innovative in teaching communications and the arts. Emerson is not a typical college: we are all here to become educated in our fields, and we prepare ourselves for the industries we will enter upon graduation. Our school spirit doesn't revolve around something petty like football-- we are all here to further our skills in whatever field we chose.

It's right in the center of Boston. There is so much going on and so much to do. My classes are also awesome, I get to work on film sets on weekends and write my own news articles.

I live in Boston an not in Ohio.

My school gives students a lot of freedom and has a great abroad program in the Netherlands. It put my best friend and I up in a hotel because they didn't have enough dorms; that's been sweet. By freedom I mean, for my research writing final grade we were allowed to disagree and defend our paper for 10 minutes in order to get a higher grade and see if the professor would reconsider.

Not only do I get to take classes in the my area of study (writing), but I also have enough extra credits to take classes in other areas that interest me. I've never taken a class that I considered a waste of time - even in the general education classes, I've learned something that I will probably use someime in my life.
