What do you brag about most when you tell your friends about Emerson College?

Katharine

Emerson is incredibly accepting. It doesn't really matter what your race, gender, class, or sexuality is. People just like you for who you are. Plus, it's in the heart of Boston in the theatre district. The school is across the street from the common so there's always something to do. And the theatre scene at the school is amazing. They own two major theaters and several smaller ones and there's always something to get involved in.

Emerson College is located literally in the heart of a world class college city. The students that go here are so dedicated to their craft and art that being anywhere else wouldn't feel as at home as Emerson does.

The opportunities! We have so mnay chances to listen to professionals speak, get first pick on internships, and to make important connections for the future. That plus the real-life experience gives me such an edge over friends at other schools.

Almost everything! My friends are always jealous when Italk about Emerson. It's in the greatest location ever: the heart of Boston! I'm never bored! Not to mention all of the on-campus activities: comedy shows, theatre, clubs, open mic nights, its amazing! Then there's the teachers: they're the real deal. I value them for their knowledge, but even more for their connections. I know that when I graduate, they'll be an awesome reference on my job applications! And of course the alumni: Maria Menounos, Jay Leno, who wouldn't be jealous?

I brag about my real world experience. On any given day, I can be found walking the city, either on the way to an interview for an article I am writing, to City Hall for a public meeting, or just exploring the city. No where else would I be living in the center of a city, and experiencing such things as I do at Emerson. The academic, and "real" world experiences become one at this college.

James

It was incredibly easy to make friends as soon as I got to college; I felt as though I could have grown up with the peers I met in my dorm and the peers I met in my classes. Everyone is amiable and intelligent, giving the school a warm and inviting atmosphere. This took away any nervousness I had in beginning my college years.

When I tell my friends about my school, Emerson College, I always bring up the amazing sense of community and motivation that exists among students. Whether it is for a class project, or an idea that someone has that they must pursue outside of the school, there are always friends and students there willing to help, so that everyone can pursue and accomplish what they desire. Being a student at a film school, I stress how important this is and how helpful it can be in building crews for film productions and class projects.
