You have to search a little to find the cool people outside of the Greek scene, but it is easy and very worthwhile to do so!

Its true that most students at Elon are white, but there is a little bit of everything. Sterotyping wise, I love how the students mix a lot with what groups they hang out with. For instance, many of the sports teams and greek organizations will openly hang out, and theres for the most part not that wall between the two groups that usually exists. Lots of students are surprisingly from the north, and once again it is true that most students come from wealthy backgrounds, but that doesnt neccessarily mean that they show it, which is nice

Students at Elon come from a diverse range of backgrounds and nationalities. Like many schools there are selective social groups like the Greek community. However, whatever your interests you will find a place for yourself at Elon if you look hard enough and the school works hard to help you find yourself.

The student body at Elon is full of sterotypes. I have never in my life been surrounded by so much preppiness. For a lot of students though, they may be rich white kids who like to party, but they also have actual concerns and worries that reach beyons their current social life. I find myself being pleasantly surprised when I meet a student who not only is the president of his frat, but also the head of the on-campus charity for Darfur. Granted, with the good comes the bad, and I have found that there are many students who will probably peak in college.

Extremely considerate. A variety of people. Mix of political parties.

Although there is not a lot of diversity racially or socio-economically, I have found that the student body is quite diverse intelectually. Many students come from different backgrounds and this leads to great discussion in and out of class. Some students choose to not interact with those different from themselves but I found it very easy to find and make friends with different kinds of students. Most students tend to be liberal, wealthy, white upper-class students from the east coast. I dont know of any kind of student that would feel out of place at Elon even with the diversity it offers.

I don't feel Elon is very diverse. Most are middle to upper class white students who dress in polo shirts and boat shoes. However all student no matter race/color interact and are friendly and open to each other. People are very nice and just want to have a good time and enjoy life. We call it the country club. Students are politically active and voting is promoted on campus.
