It’s a really good school, especially for people who are trying to get pre-requisites or general education classes done! The professor’s are all super invested in their students, and genuinely want to see them succeed. As far as colleges go, it’s pretty laid back and chill, not super academically competitive, but there are a few classes that did challenge me, and they have a great Bio program!

I enjoy the campus; the dorms are splendid, the students are nice, the teachers are involved and always ready to help. As a whole, the campus is well maintained, the staff are willing to lend a hand and the food is delicious. Being apart of this school is a honor.

It's a pretty small Campus in a quaint little town. Everyone knows each other and is pretty friendly. There is always something going either on campus or at the LDS institute. There are unique shops around both near the school and in the downtown area where most are family owned. The professors are friendly and welcoming.

Eastern Arizona College is amazing. Super affordable with quality education. Their drama and music programs receive special attention and have great funding and representation. The staff are friendly and are often readily available for tutoring, makeup testing, or to answer questions. Being a community college there is a large turnover of students every year. So, even as a Freshman I was cast in lead roles in productions and was working in the scene shop as well as as a Properties Master. As a comprehensive program, you get to dip your toe into a little of everything theatre wise. Stage managing, playwriting, acting, costume design, scene design, you name it. You are guaranteed to love the community, the education, the professors, and the campus is gorgeous. EAC will always hold a special place in my heart.

  2. What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

I would tell myself to be more careful about what I tell my parents while I am in college and to think before I speak. Find a work study job and keep it because the money is good and it looks great on a resume. I would tell myself to be careful with money and that it goes quickly in college if not spent wisely. Stay in the dorms, though the food maybe terrible, you will meet great people that become great friends later on in the year. Study harder than you did in high school because grades are more important if you want to make it to a university. Do not take a bunch of hard classes at the same time because you just end up drowning in finals, homework, and stress. Take a few fun classes like dance and choir to keep you relaxed. Spread your classes out and never take an eight in the morning class because you will never get up in time for it. Stick to getting your generals done before you pick a career and do not let anyone stress you into decided early. Take your time and try to have fun while learning.

  7. What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?

I wish that I'd known the importance of checking degree requirements often. I took a few of the wrong classes and I was not able to graduate when I would have liked. While this was a growing experience for me, I definately wish I would have seen an advisor sooner so I would not have had to take so many more classes. I also wish I would have realized the importance of speaking your mind and giving opinions in college. My first year I was pretty quiet and wish I would have expressed myself more.

  8. What kind of person should not attend this school?

EAC is a wonderful college where I believe anyone should attend. EAC has a wide variety of different students and also staff. There are people from all over the world attending and there is something that can appeal to anyone. Everyone is allowed to be an individual and I think that's one of the most important things about being a college student.

  9. What do you brag about most when you tell your friends about your school?

Class sizes are small so teachers work well with students (they get a more one on one approach). Students are focused on doing well in classes but not to the extent they ostracize others. There is a sense of comeraderie, excitement and anticipation for graduation and impending careers.

  11. Here's your chance: Say anything about your college!

The unique thing about Eastern Arizona College is that you as a student have a chance to shine. At EAC what you do matters! In most schools, a freshman would never see a stage. At EAC freshmen were leads in the plays and running sound boards for concerts. And they did great! EAC is all about taking freshman at a highschool level, and pushing them up to the college level. With small classes, you really get to know your teachers, and you know they care about you.

  12. What kind of person should attend this school?

I always recommend EAC to someone who isn't sure what they want to do yet. Tuition at EAC is the cheapest in Arizona. Don't let that fool you though. It is a wonderful education with wonderful programs. Despite how inexpensive the tuition is, the Theater Department has a large enough budjet to take students to New York! As I was saying, EAC is great for students who want to explore options because you can afford to take whatever classes you want. EAC gives you the chance to to explore your options.
