What is Drexel University known for?

My experience at Drexel so far has been decent. I like the program they offer which differs from a regular 4 year program. The 5 year co-op program Drexel offers allows its students to experience working in their field of choice before graduating. This allows us as the students to see how well we fit in that kind of work environment while giving us real world experience. This aspect of the university sets it apart from other universities.

Drexel University is a great school with amazing professors. They have a great co-op program which allows for work experience without having to juggle it with classes. However, the estimated overall cost of the school is over $60,000 a year, and will only continue to rise. But the end promises a great job to help pay for it all.

A fast-paced, experiential and medium sized university.

My school is both a blessing and a curse. The quarter system skyrockets my stress levels through the roof but I have some of the most cutting age professors at my disposal to teach me. Not to mention, the co-op program which will give me 6 months of experience in my field of study. I'm originally from Massachusetts so the culture here is quiet intense sometimes. People may be a little bit ruder on the street but the food trucks here fill my stomach and head so I don't pay attention to those types of things. The dorms are clean and I sleep way less in my bed then I'd like but overall, I love Drexel University.

Drexel has been a nightmare. They are very difficult to deal with and I received terrible advisement. I spent over $70,000 on a certification program that NJ does not recognize and therefore I have to take the classes in another school or lose my job. Drexel never advised me of that. On more than occassion my grades were calculated wrong, and it would have forced me to take a class again because it was a B- and not a B and it was the core. They do this alot and it causes students to take very expensive classes over again, adding to overall loan debt. It has been a terrible experience and I would not recommend Drexel to anyone.

Great School, I enjoy the city environment

Laura

I love Drexel University. I love the location, because it does have a campus feel, but is also walking distance to center city. There is also a shuttle into center city, and where majority of my nursing classes are. For example, it would take me 15 minutes to go to walk to an H&M or an 8 minute walk to a CVS. This past year, our Men's Basketball team made it vary in our conference, and a lot of people attended the games. With our mascot being unique, a lot of people take pride in being a Drexel Dragon. However, when I was applying to this school I remember I really wanted to go to a school with a football team, because in high school I loved attending those games. Looking back now, I am happy I didn't choose a school based on that criteria. I do wish they had one, but so many other positives make up for that. Whenever I tell people from elsewhere that I attend Drexel, it's usually the reaction with "you're smart." The work is challenging here, especially as a nursing major, but it is definitely worth it

Also, there are so many opportunities. With the co-op program, it sets you up with networking and experience in your field. Also, there are so many resources you can utilize. For example, I was having trouble in my class, and there are tutors available all of the time, even Saturdays.
