DigiPen Institute of Technology Top Questions

What's the most frustrating thing about DigiPen Institute of Technology?

Hana

DigiPen is incredibly small and incredibly specific. With only about 1200 students all interested in the Video Game Industry, you don't get a lot of diversity amongst your peers when it comes to interests, personality, goals, or even racial diversity. This is great if you fit into the niche, you'll have plenty of like-minded friends. However if you are looking for more seasoned conversations and more interesting people, it can get a bit lonely and frustrating.

Jacqueline

The fact that not all our computers have the programs we need like Adobe Photoshop.

James

The most frustrating thing at DigiPen is how much knowledge instructors have about their specific fields and how little time you have as a student to learn from them. Between balancing your homework and course load, it can be difficult to learn more from them outside of class, but it makes all the difference when you do!

The most frustrating is the technology. I attend DigiPen Institute of Technology, yet it feels like a lot of the technology is broken. For example, in order to transfer your hand drawn animation into a digital version, one must use a specially set up camera connected to a computer. Unfortunately we have access to 5 of such cameras and each one has some part of it not functioning. This issue becomes uncomfortable where there are around 200 animation students working simultaneously on a project.
