What is the stereotype of students at DePauw University? Is this stereotype accurate?

Chelsea

We have a very strong Greek life on our campus. Over 60{4a082faed443b016e84c6ea63012b481c58f64867aa2dc62fff66e22ad7dff6c} of the student body is Greek! But the atmosphere doesn't reflect that most people you pass on campus are members of a sorority or fraternity. Since the majority is Greek people don't identify with being Greek as much as they identify with other involvements on campus that are more exclusive and carry more recognition, such as programs like Management Fellows, ITAP, and Civic Fellows just to name a few. Also because DePauw is a private school in a somewhat impoverished community, all students tend to be viewed by the community as "rich kids". This stereotype is by not true at all. Our campus is very diverse with students from all kinds of social, economic, and ethnic backgrounds. Because DePauw offers so many scholarships and grants to students it allows for students from all walks of life to enjoy at top notch education at one of the best private institutions in the mid-west.
