A good school with a great reputation for students transferring to different colleges after their 2 years. They also have amazing professors along with a variety of programs. I am currently in my second semester as a freshman and it's been an enjoyable ride so far.

I think Cypress College is a great community junior college to start your education. All the professors and faculty are super supportive. They are tons of resources that are accessible for students.

I live it

Patrick - 12/17/2019

I am an involved student. I am 56 years of age and starting my life over after a short time being homeless and am partially disabled with degenerative osteoarthritis. I think my community college is one of the best in California. Most things are accessible but still, need to work on disabled lecture halls. Other things are very acceptable. The professors, for the most part, are very involved with the students. I am a mentor on campus and currently an honors student.

  3. What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?

The worst thing about Cypress College is the disconnect between students. It takes at least a month's worth of classes to become friends with classmates, and even then students don't usually interact outside of class. The few student events that take place aren't publicized, so people don't get to hang out with other members of the student body. All in all, I think that not being able to really get to know my calssmates is one of the worst things about Cypress College.

  5. What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?

I wish I had known more about my potential. Growing up, I did pretty well in school, but never thought, or was encouraged, to try my best and succeed. I was known as the failure in the family, so I thought my fate was set in stone. I had never thought of actually trying to get into a great school. It was the greatest regret of my life. I should've continued to believe in myself and pushed myself to my fullest potential. Now I pay the price with years wasted. I realize now I'm very capable of greatness.

  7. What's unique about your campus?

The one thing that I would consider is the best thing about the college, is that the tutors are right their to help you with your homework or if you don't understand something. The reason why, I believe that that is the best thing is because most students believe that when they are in college that the know ever thingand that they know what their doing. But the tutors can help you with that and they are willing to take the time to sit down and explain the lesson to you.
