Cornerstone University, located in the vibrant city of Grand Rapids, Michigan, is truly a hidden gem for students seeking a comprehensive education in a Christ-centered environment. As a current college student majoring in Family and Human Services, I couldn't be happier with my decision to choose Cornerstone as my academic home. One of the undeniable strengths of Cornerstone University is its exceptional faculty who are not only academically qualified but also devoted to their students' success. The professors in the Family and Human Services program have an impressive blend of theoretical knowledge and practical experience, which they skillfully impart to us through engaging lectures and thought-provoking discussions. They genuinely care about our growth, ensuring that we receive the best education possible. The small class sizes at Cornerstone University foster an intimate learning environment where students can actively participate and form strong connections with their peers. The collaborative atmosphere has been instrumental in cultivating a sense of community and support among students of all disciplines. The faculty's accessibility outside of the classroom further enhances this collegial environment, providing valuable guidance and mentoring opportunities. Another standout feature of Cornerstone University is its commitment to integrating faith into every aspect of our education. The university's Christ-centered approach has not only deepened my understanding of my discipline but has also strengthened my personal faith. Daily chapel services, Bible courses, and intentional discipleship programs have played a significant role in shaping my spiritual growth during my time here. With its beautiful campus situated in close proximity to downtown Grand Rapids, Cornerstone University strikes the perfect balance between academics and a thriving community. The university's location offers countless opportunities for internships, service-learning projects, and involvement in the local community, giving students firsthand experience and a broader perspective of their field. In conclusion, Cornerstone University stands as a testament to academic excellence, personalized attention, and a firm commitment to Christ-centered education. As a Family and Human Services student, I am beyond grateful for the transformative experience and endless opportunities this university has provided me. I highly recommend Cornerstone University to any student seeking a meaningful and comprehensive education in a supportive and faith-filled environment

Christian - 05/13/2023

Cornerstone University is a Christ-centered university with a great community that is created both my the faculty, staff, and students. Community is central to our faith as we grow in knowledge of the Lord. Our programs are evolving as we build our nursing program, online classes, and downsizing our humanities division (which is not supported by me and my friends). Our size as a school is small and its the way we like it here at cornerstone. Small numbers where everyone almost knows everyone and community is created with Christ as the center. Our core classes, as we are a liberal arts university, is evolving and I hope is improved for some of the required classes most of our students do not want to take; therefore, they do not get the most out of the teachings. Overall I love cornerstone even though some of the cafeteria meals can be 3 out of 5 rating.

Cornerstone University set the bar high in my opinion for colleges. My professors and cohorts have always been encouraging, helpful, and kind. This university is faith-based and the curriculum directly reflects these beliefs. What a breath of fresh air! Attending this college online is incredibly simple as they mail you any books or materials you may need. The adult program is one class at a time for approximately 5 weeks. It’s perfect for full time working students. I highly recommend Cornerstone University!!

Cristine - 08/06/2020

While no university is perfect by everyone's standards, I can say this university strives to create a great, safe learning atmosphere that is sensitive to students' needs. All my professors have gone above and beyond what is expected of them to be responsive to me as a student, and as a person. Highly recommended school!

  2. What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

I would tell myself not to push myself so hard my freshman year. College really is different than High school and it takes time to make the adjustment. You can't skate through classes and still expect A's.

What I would consider the worst thing about my school is how long our winter break is. I live with more than two hundred people in my dorm, and now I am back with just my family. It may sound silly but that is the only thing I do not like about my school. I loved my classes and my friends at Cornerstone. I cannot wait for my new classes to start and try my best. Most people can?t wait for break, but most of us are begging to go back home, to Cornerstone!

  7. What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?

If I could speak to my high school self, I would tell myself to enjoy the process more. Life just kinda falls into place, so you plan the best you can, but you also can't worry when things don't work out how they were "supposed to." A change in priorities or direction is not a bad thing. In fact, it can sometimes be a door opening to something you never could have imagined. Had it not been for "interruptions" in my plan, I would not be as strong or insiteful as I am today.
