Don't stress out too much about finding the "right" college. Every college offers a lot, and your son/daughter will most likely grow to love it.

I would recommend that prospective students take tours of each campus they are interested in. You may think you like a school by looking at their website, but sometimes visiting the campus can make or break your decision. By visiting campuses, you can get the vibe of the school and the students who attend the instituion. I believe it is also extremely important to talk to current students about their likes and dislikes of the school. Ask them what they were looking for in terms of their college experience, and evaluate if it is similar to yours. You can get a great education at many schools in this country, but the people who attend the school will play a major part of your experience. Once you are accepted into college, you should try to get involved in club or varsity sports, or activist clubs becayse they can serve as excellent vehicles in meeting other people. Challenge yourself to befriend people who are different from you, because you learn so much more from those who come from different lifestyles. While you will grow throughout college and discover your true passions, don't forget to be you!
