For a community college, Columbus State is one of the better ones. A good portion of my professors were always more than willing to help you outside of class if you asked for it. Being in a science major definitely helped because one of the best things about CSCC is that its labs are quite good, even if they aren't as large or exclusive as some larger colleges. There is a good range of diversity, ranging from a pretty large immigrant population all the way to religious and racial diversity. The classes are also usually pretty interactive because they don't have massive class sizes.

It is an awesome class with flexible time for you. Your ankle tk check if this class fixes your time and schedule. They have so many classes you can finish at durign the summer at your time. You can go to school as many as 1x per week greet for students who plan to work at the same time and go tk school tje same time.

I think that it is a great school that offers flexibility at a much more affordable price. It's different from other schools, especially at branch locations where I go. The classes are much smaller which I enjoy, but you don't really get the same college experience.

  2. What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

    This a good question, one that I have thought about before, and this is what I concluded. Life's experiences are worth their weight in gold. Precious are the lessons we learn from good and bad decisions, good times and trials. Those who learn not to repeat the mistakes of others, or better still, their own, is most wise and a gem to society. I personally would not change a thing that I have experienced, for it has taught me a lot(how to love,what I want out of life ,and what I don't), however; if I could change anything, it would be the speed in which I finally learned from it. I believe test and trials will come, to show what we know, for life is a classroom, and God, the professor. Everything He allows us to go through is to show where we lack, and where we are strong, and all of His exams are to make us greater, and better help to someone else.

    Its a depressing looking community college, and I'm here only to finish up my gen eds.

  4. What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?

    I wish I would have known that there is a limited amount of help, some of the teachers can be rude to the students and not preform the correct duties. I also would have like to know that the people that I am surronded by do not care about anything but themselves. For example, in a quite classroom someone has their Ipod blasting during class, or they just shove in the hallways, or be rude towards the prfessors.

  5. What do you brag about most when you tell your friends about your school?

    I brag about how I'm saving money. The price of Columbus State versus a state school is substantially less expensive. I also brag about how because of the decreased cost of tuition, I am able to explore more subjects and to try to figure out what I essentially want to do with my life.

    My school is educational, helpful, incredible, fun, and most of all, informative.

    This school designed with everyone in mind. From high school graduates, to the senior citizen, and every ethnic group or nationality. It allows th novice student to experience college life without the anxiety of a mega campus, and super large classrooms.

    Columbus State Community College is best known for its Career and Technical program division, which offers two year career programs in more than fify-five areas of business, health, public service, human service, and engineering technologies.

  10. Here's your chance: Say anything about your college!

    I like that it is a very good place to transition to other colleges. CSCC is also relatively inexpensive and a great deal of credits transfer to the school in which I want to finish my undergrad. Going to a community college helped me meet people that were already finished with their first degree and are now on to earn a technical degree to re-enter a very competetive job market. These people improved the way I view college as a whole. I realize that college was made to prepare you for your major.

    I enjoy that it is a smaller school with attention focused on individuals, as opposed to groups as a whole.

    The two types of student: the one who will go on to do mind blowing, amazing things within their field and the one who only talks to you when they want to insult you based on whatever they see fit.

    The stereotypical Columbus State Cougar is for lack of a better word, a cougar. This is not true many of the students are right out of, or still in, highschool and have plans to transfer to a 4 year university.

    The stereotypical student in our school is smart-alec highschooler, or a middle aged women coming back to school.

    The shift from knowing everybody and having a lot of friends and events to go to in Highschool, to having nothing to do but homework, and getting split up from your friends.

All students must apply yearly for financial aid. This process starts with the FAFSA. Though financial aid deadlines vary by school, it is a good idea to apply as soon as possible.
