The city campus is great! Love using Chicago's public transportation to get around. Columbia really forces the students to develop their own independence, both on purpose and not. A lot of the professors (in the film department anyway) are coming back from working in the field so they have the ability to teach from experience and not just a book. And all the students are extremely diverse...not racially but personality and style wise.

I think that the way in which teachers relate to students is different than at other schools. Its like we are fiends, they guide us but they also treat us like equels. This school also has many people who are coming from different places, i mean this not just in the geographicly but in the ways that we learn and our backgroud, we are not a school full of just HS grads there aretransfers and adultand international and students who just took some time off as well .Columbia is an art school but it focuses on making us well rounded.
