It is an arts school, focused on the particular area of study chosen. It is not a sports based school, which many students who excell in the arts, and who wish to persue a career in the arts/technical, will find attractive. It is an excellent fit for me, and I have found that the student body all have similar feelings.

It allows you to be yourself, and has small classes that allow you to stand out in your field.

This school offers a very wide variety of courses which i personally enjoyed. I will sometimes take classes in other majors just for to get a feel of what it is like. Being downtown Chicago is another thing that makes it amazing. I don't think i'd rather live anywhere else in the world after being here. Manifest is the biggest stand out about Columbia though. At the end of the year all students showcase all their artwork down town. It is like a huge festival and honestly a very good way to get work out.

The most unique thing about Columbia College is the dedication of the students to be as creative as possible. The professors really support the students and at times give the students help to reach their goals.

Salvador

The way of teaching and the teachers involved. I love the fact that teachers are actual working profesionals and that they are teaching out of experience, not out of a book. An urban campus may not be the most common type, but it's definitely something new and exciting to try.

Travis

The number of arts programs and fields of study.

Rebecca

It's an art school, so it's extremely liberal. All of the teachers are still active members of their occupation, so we get all of the most up to date teaching.

Kelie

The more eccentric your are the better -- a lot of freedom to explore art and be yourself.
