The campus is a very friendly and safe place to be, it is very common for everyone you pass to greet you and ask how you are doing. The professors are usually very caring and efficient in how they teach. There is a "campus safety" that is constantly patrolling the campus and offers escorts at all times. the school is on top of emails and keeping you posted. Overall, it is an amazing college that truly wants you to succeed and has various opportunities to allow you to do so.

Citrus College is very good. It is a great community college option for someone who is looking to transfer because they are willing to help students have a plan and complete what they need in order to transfer. The class sizes are great and it is very affordable. The campus is not huge, so getting to classes that are on opposite sides of campus is no problem at all. The parking can be quite the hassle, especially for morning classes. So many students either show up very early or go around in circles for ages. Getting the classes you need is never an issue, students can be put waitlists for classes, but a lot of teachers let in as many as they can.

  2. What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

Love who you are. No one will always understand the way you think, the feelings you have, or the dreams you follow. No one can be you. Be comfortable with who you and what you want to do. You can always listen to your parents, but remember that it is your life not theirs. They only want what is best for you, but you need to figure that out for yourself. You need to be you when you make your decisions. Your parents don't want you to make a mistake, but seeing your effort, they should understand that you have to fail to be successful. You are the best you can be and don't believe that you are not good enough. Because in your heart, you have what it takes.

  7. What's the most frustrating thing about your school?

As a young kid, I always thought of college as being a marvelous place to be, filled with intellectual challenges and people who sought, eagerly, to establish themselves in the academic world. Naively, I thought these were the majority of people and that there were these amazing minds at every turn. There isn't that and finding your place among the crowd is still as hard as it's ever been.

The unique part about citrus college is that for only being a community college, their performing arts departments are considered one of the best in California. I have been able to tour all over the country singing while getting all my general education done for an eighth of the cost of a four year institution. The teachers are amazing and even some of the teachers are the authors of the texts books all the colleges use. Overall, Citrus College is a wonderful and inexpensive stepping stone.
