The school is okay. You have to stay on top of everything to make it through the program. You have to be willing to do the work but assistance is provided to help you succeed and finish the program. Each semester is eight weeks so the program is really accelerated. If you are a working adult this school is geared towards working students, it is better if you work nights. Once in the upper level class you have to have a pretty open schedule during the day because mostly everything is scheduled out through the day hours.

Like many schools, Chamberlain has its pros and cons. It's a great nursing school because its difficult, yet prepares us for the real world. The exams are designed to help us deal with complicated situations. The clinicals are around various parts of Virginia, so students have several opportunities to meet employers and gain valuable experience and service from each hospital. On the other hand, there aren't many extracurricular activities, and students don't have a lot of opportunities to interact with campus-life.

  3. What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

Knowing what I know now, if I could go back in time, I would advise myself to maintain great grades, stay focused and be well organized. I would also tell myself to volunteer more especially to volunteer with potential employers- so as to get a glimpse of what lies ahead of a career path I would like to choose. Another word of advice is to search for scholarships ahead of time so as to better prepare for what needs to be done to qualify for the scholarships.
