Chamberlain College of Nursing in Illinois is a well-regarded institution known for its focused approach to nursing education. One of its standout features is the flexibility it offers students through its online and hybrid programs, which can be particularly beneficial for those juggling work, family, or other commitments. The college provides a range of nursing programs, from the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) to advanced degrees like the Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) and Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP), making it a comprehensive choice for those pursuing a career in nursing. The college’s curriculum is designed to be rigorous and aligned with current healthcare practices, ensuring that graduates are well-prepared to enter the workforce. Clinical experiences are a key component of the program, offering students hands-on learning in various healthcare settings. This practical experience is crucial for developing the skills needed to excel in nursing. However, like any institution, Chamberlain College of Nursing has its challenges. Some students have reported high tuition costs, and while the programs are flexible, the accelerated pace can be demanding. Overall, Chamberlain College of Nursing-Illinois is a solid option for those dedicated to pursuing a nursing career. Its comprehensive programs, flexible learning options, and focus on practical experience make it a strong contender for aspiring nurses, though potential students should carefully consider the financial and academic demands.

My opinion of Chamberlain College of Nursing is positive overall, because I believe it provides a strong educational foundation for aspiring nurses. My impression of Chamberlain College of Nursing is that it places a strong emphasis on hands-on education. Students can apply their knowledge in practical settings by participating in clinical rotations offered by the school in a variety of healthcare settings. Students gain important experience that equips them with the skills needed to deliver high-quality patient care and gets them ready for the demands of a nursing job.

It had a great reputation, but many changes have been happening since I have started attending in March 2022. I chose this university to get a hands-on education, I prefer in-class training. They have slowly reduced us down to mostly online. Some classes are singularly available online, some classes are hybrid-like, only meeting a couple times in person. Tuition has increased also, while online courses have increased. That seems counterintuitive, and really upset many of us students.

Victor - 03/08/2022

I am a first generation College attendee and attending Chamberlain has been a great experience thus far. It is a very accelerated school with a 3 year BSN . They offer a variety of services to help the students succeed such as: tutoring, student support, scholarships, or just needing to talk to someone. It is a bit expensive but well worth it!

  2. What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

First of all I would tell myself to start college sooner than later. I wanted to work and make money as soon as I graduated high school so I put college on the back burner. I expected college to be beyond my reach, too expensive, not smart enough, takes too long. Now I realized that all the money, time and brain power I have spent on college was well worth it. Would I have liked to have gone sooner? Yes, but I can't change the past, all I can do is prepare the best I know how for the future. You don't realize that time gets away from you and before you know it, it's been 5 years since you graduated high school and you're expected to be adult. Make the time to prepare for the future!

  8. What kind of person should not attend this school?

Chamberlain College of Nursing is best fit for nurses who have been working for a few years and want to further their education. I feel that a brand new nurse would best benefit from a BSN program that requires clinical experience for the best learning environment. Chamberlain's program is well organized, flexible and diverse. As a seasoned nurse the research projects and studies were manageable because I understood the terminology and expectations of the projects involved. The flexibility of this program was great for me but may not be for someone not self-motivated and disciplined to participate.

I brag mostly about the accessibilty. I am able to go to any device and log on and complete my work. Don't get me wrong, sometimes the classes can get intense but overall it is laid back and user friendly. The instructors are very knowledgable about the subjects and really make an effort to help their students.
