California State University-Stanislaus Top Questions

The best thing about California State University, Stanislaus is the student-to-teacher ratio. Once you start taking courses related to your major, class size becomes much smaller, with about 30-50 students per class. In my experience, classes such as these provide students will a better understanding of the topic and a direct relationship with the professor and other students. Small class sizes are also great because class meetings consist of activities and discussions in comparison to sitting through lectures. At least in my major (Communication Studies), I have seen this greatly contribute to good relationships between professors and students as well as many friendships throughout the department. Overall, the students and faculty at Stanislaus are truly amazing. Throughout my time at Stanislaus, I have met some great friends! Professors are extremely helpful with classwork as well as internship and career hunting. Professors at Stanislaus have a phenomenal educational and professional background. I have truly been amazed at the experiences and accomplishments my professors bring to the classroom. There are many clubs and organizations on campus. These include Greek organizations, honors organizations, intramural sports, etc. These are great for students to meet new friends and to gain leadership experience. Another plus, the campus is beautiful! Our school is a good size both campus-wise and student-wise. It would be possible and perhaps beneficial (socially) to have more students. However, to keep the student-to-teacher ratio the same, more teachers would need to be hired. I personally like the campus the way that it is. I am not sure about every department, but in the Communications Department we are like a little family. Every student and teacher know one another and many of us are friends outside of class.

This school is AWESOME!! It is a small school and you are able to get in touch with a lot of the things it has to offer. There may not be very many club options but with the clubs we do have we are able to see what they do and know a lot about them. Our school also has amazing dalily and weekly programs and activities to get the students envolved. They give out tons of free stuff and they promote school pride. Turlock isn't much of a college town but its nice because we have lots of schools near by. You can get Starbucks, burgers, pizza, ice cream, frozen yogurt, Wing Stop, ect in walking distance.
