This motto shows itself throughout the school with most classes having a lab portion that allows students to really get their hands "dirty." Students really learn how to do the things they are learning in the classroom in these labs, so when they graduate, most of the students already have experience working with the tools of their industry.

I am proud to be living what Cal Poly, SLO, is best known for, learning by doing! All of their major programs are fantastic at getting students involved in the major, from career trade shows to extensive lab setups. We are, however, BEST known for our engineering and agriculture departments.
