What kind of person should not attend Bridgewater State University?

Nellie

I'd say to maximize the class schedules, a non-driver should explore other schools in the area because Bridgewater's commuter rail services limits one to what classes they can take if you do not drive to the campus.

I believe that anyone who comes to college to party should not come. This applies for my school as well. Yes, Western is known as a party school, but students are coming here to learn. Students should not waste their money on a college education to party all the time. So, if you are a party person and do not plan on studying, do not come to my school, or any school for that matter.

The extremely studious student. Not that our school isn't academically focused, but students do also enjoy having a social life and doing things other than studying all the time. If someone is the type of person who does tend to spend all their time studying, then they probably wouldn't get involved with all the fun things we offer to our student body like special guest speaker, sporting events, special dinners etc.

If you are looking for more of a city life, then this school isn't really for you. Although, the train stops on campus, and is only about an hour away from boston.

Someone who is looking for a good party time during college should not attend this school. BSC has very strong no-alcohol rules and a zero tollerance for any drugs found on campus. If you are caught with any alcohol on campus you are given a judiciary and are forced to deal with the police. Three judiciaries are you are automatically kicked out. Bridgewater also does not have the partying Fraternity lifestyle like other colleges. For kids who plan on going to college and just partying to have fun, Bridgewater State College would not be a good fit for them.

BSC offers a wide range of interests for anyone, therefore there isn't a limit on who can or cannot attend. What it comes down to is those who want to succeed. In any college, you are paying them. It's your money and if you chose to skip class or not do the assignments it doesn't hurt anyone but you. Students who aren't ready to fully commit to what college has to offer and what that requires of them are not ready for college. College means work, but in the end I know it's worth it!
