That you must visit the school and try to talk to surrent students that are not giving you a tour. Talk to someone you see sitting around studying or eating lunch because you will get a better idea from those people when you would a tour guide.

Look into everything and make sure students get what they want out of it. Make sure you ask about everything!!

In order to select the best college, it is important that a person visit multiple colleges of multiples sizes, ethnic diversities, and political arenas. This ensures that the social setting is comfortable and that it will be an easy transition into the college or university. Additionally, researching ones intended major and the extent to which the college is known for producing students of a high caliber in terms of their proficieny within that major is an integral part of determining a college. To be successful after graduation, it is important to have attended a school whose name and academic programs will be most beneficial in competing for job placement. Therefore, the best way to choose the right college is to visit multiple colleges and universities that are diverse ethnically, in size, and in political polarization and activity, and to research that schools academic programs and prestige.

find a college that fits your style. if you like small classes, and want to be known by name, don't big a huge school, find a nice small school. there are so many scholarship opportunities out there - you just have to work to find them. do your research and see what is out there. pick the school that you are going to be most happy at. what school is best for you? don't decide on a school based on the price tag. yes, the financial aspect is important, but if you choose a school based solely on cost you are going to regret it. pick the school you feel is the best fit and then look for financial opportunities like scholarships, grants, and if needed loans. there is also campus work study programs which will pay you to work hours that fit your class schedules. the most important thing is to be happy and find a school where you will feel comfortable at so you can learn and excel.

I feel that no matter how many times you visit or stay over with students at any college, you cannot fully know what it is like until you attend there. I experienced this and ended up transferring to Bridgewater College and cannot say anything different would have changed my mind in attending the first college. I needed to find out by being there , living in the dorms to know it wasn't the college for me. You need to just go with your gut feeling on the college you decide to attend and pray it is the best one for you. If not, it is not the end of the world. You can always transfer to another college. Your goal is to get a degree no matter what college or university it is from and to fulfill your job dreams in the future. What I live by is to make the most out of each and everyday. Learn something new and meet someone new each day and that will be the greatest achievement there is.

When deciding on a college, and you know what you want to do with your life, find a college that excels in that area of interest, like Biology or Business. And then out of those select colleges, choose one that fits in with your lifestyle and living preferences. If one is going undecided, choose a liberal arts college. Liberal arts colleges offer a variety of interests on campus and are usually mastered in all areas of study. The Liberal Arts also furthers an individual to not just learn a particular area of interest, but to explore ideas outside a student's comfortable range and to think analytically and critically.

The best way to find the right college is to explore your options. There are so many options in colleges and universities, so keep looking until you find the perfect college for you. Start thinking about what you would like to study, if you have not decided already. You want to choose somewhere that will cater to your needs as a student and as a future professional, so once you choose your intended course of study, start to look at schools that have programs that will maximize your potential. The most important thing to remember is not to stress too much, your college experience should be something you will to remember for the rest of your life and choosing the perfect college for you is the first step. Although your making a lot of important life decisions, remember that life is short, so make the best out of it.

Definantly go on a tour of the school before making your decision. If the school feels right, if you feel like you belong on the campus then that is the school for you. I know that I was certain I was going to go to a big school and then I went on several college tours and realized that a big school was not for me.

When searching for the right college, it is critical that you visit all your your possible schools while school is in session. This gives you the best indicator of how life at that college is real is. You get a sense of how students interact with one another and faculty. You get a chance to sample the food that is served daily and witness normal activities, and not just the food offered at orientations and open houses and the special events that are put on at those times. It's important that the school you choose offer the program(s) you are interested in, but also that you feel as though you are a part of something bigger, and the best way to gauge that is by actually visiting prior to committing.

advice i would give is never settle for what you think is the best. always keep looking at schools visit all the ones you apply to and ask questions. make sure you understand what you are getting into at the college you choose. have an open mind when going into the move in process and meeting new people. one big thing is to try and keep track of your finances. learn to pinch pennies and find the best deals around. a good tip is to shop at goodwill for cheap clothing. also try to limit yourself to spending too much per week. set aside a stipend for yourself so you do not overdraft your account. always remember to call home and dont lose touch with the ones you love. try to keep yourself a level head and make the best of it! college is great, as long as it makes you great!
