I loved the Beloit Community. It is devoted to intellectual pursuits and creates a safe environment for academic exploration. The professors and advisors challenge and encourage the students to think differently. I can't think of a more positive foundation for my academic undertakings.

The best thing about Beloit is the diversity of the type of people on campus. We have engineers and dancers and fraternity brothers and hipsters. Everybody has a place that they can find to belong in a crazy unique qay. The hipsters are the engineers, the fraternity guys are maths majors. Nobody has to be what is expected of them.

The best thing about my school, in my opinion, is actually two- The Logan Museum of Anthropology and the Wright Museum of Art. We are one of only a few undergraudate institutions that have one on-campus museum, let alone two. This is great. As a museum studies student, I have received a lot of hands-on experience that I can carry over into internships and, later on, a career. The Logan especially is important, as it is quite famous as an educational museum and is the reason why many students come here.

The opportunities - if you take advantage of it. You can do basically anthing here if you set your mind to it. Also, the people are great.

The fact that people here at Beloit are so open-minded and "unique." Beloit is known for its quirky students, but each individual has his/her own unique talents and interests that sets them apart from people at other schools. It's hard to explain, best to see for yourself!

It's very diverse in terms of what people do, the way they dress, the music they listen to and the things that they are passionate about. You always meet someone different. The classes are small and the professors are readily available and want to help.

The best thing about Beloit College is also, to many students, its largest hinderance. Since there isn't much around Beloit (shopping, huge restaurants, outdoor environments, etc.) the winters in Beloit are extremely cold, and most of the student population is from out-of-state, there really isn't much of an easy way to "escape" from Beloit College. However, this sometimes forced-closeness creates a campus that is lively every weekend and a chance to meet everyone and even people you may never have met otherwise. Beloit is conducive to a strong community based on its location and demographics.

Some of the professors are VERY engaging, knowledgable, organized and overall, inspiring. Taking classes with just a few of them will make the entire experience worth while as their enthusiasm is contagious, and they will you a lot.
