Beloit College Top Questions

What kind of person should not attend Beloit College?

Madeleine

Someone who is not willing to look at other perspectives or the other side of an argument would not fit in well here. Open mindedness is something that is celebrated at Beloit and people who just have one opinion and won't accept anyone else's wouldn't be tolerated. Also someone who likes big party schools shouldn't go here since the school population is about 1,300.

Samantha

People who aren't willing to put in the effort to expand their horizons should not attend Beloit. The professors and your peers will always be there to support you as you strive towards your goal but there is no way that you will succeed if you simply expect that to be enough. Beloit has amazing opportunities but you have to want to reach for them.

I feel, and have heard, that this school dosn't provide a comfortable environment for conservative students. It is not that conservative and religious students will be set upon by the liberal and unreligious population, but that liberal ideologies and pedagogies are engrained in campus life. There isn't a lack of acceptance of religious beliefs; there is merely a very low religious population relative to the unreligious liberal population.
