I really enjoy going to Baker. It is a small school so you will have more one on one time with your professor. The professors actually care and want you to do good in school! The dorms are very clean and a very good size. We are also offered a lot of free tutoring which comes in handy. We also can set up to have one on one hour long session to help you with any class you need help with.

Baker College is a great school, I have attended other schools and this is overall my best experience. I'm actually excited on the days I'm able to attend class because I know it is one step closer to where I want to be. It is exciting to learn about the topics we are learning about and that really motivates me to do my best.

Small campus. Small classes. These make for a more condusive learning environment. Well rounded curriculum. The faculty and staff have high expectations of students. They truly want you to succeed. Nice facilities that are easily accessible (financial aid, library, book store, cafeteria). Faculty relate learning experiences to real-life.

  4. What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?

Mistakenly, I thought when applying for Financial Aid that they would let me know about whatever aid I qualified for. For the most part, this is true except for SCHOLARSHIPS. Only now have I become aware that it was up to me to find and apply for any scholarships that I may qualify for. The financial aid office posts a few scholarships that are available, but there a countless more opportunties. It can be a full time job just researching and applying for scholarships. I wish I had been diligently applying for them all throughout college.

  8. What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?

How the trap you there. It's very hard to transfer to another college unless it is another Baker College. The finacial aid gets ripped from you more and more every year for stupid reasons too. They also don't take students concerns seriously. There is this one professor here who has had many complaints about his rudeness, his teaching abilities and his respect for students. They have done nothing to fix it.

If you've taken a class at a different college and need to retake it because none of your classes transfer, expect it to be completely different. 15. What is your overall opinion of this school?

--My experience with Baker college of Owosso started with who I believe is the dean, or person in charge of everything at Baker of Owosso. He started of by saying Baker college does not advertise (I passed a billboard, heard radio and TV ads...). Ok little peeved that he lied there... I brushed it off. --I had to retake a class at Baker college since my credit did not transfer from a previous school. Before I got an A in the class... this time around(It's the same work mind you) I received a D!! --After this I went to see a counselor to make sure I could take a summer class and that my loans/fafsa/grants covered everything. He reassured me several times that everything would be covered. I went to take said class and I owed the school $500 before I could start!! I let the school know... I never saw him in his office again he was "let go". It seems that he had done this before, according to other students. -- At this point I am frustrated. I am completely my fafsa for the new year. However one paper is postponed on my part due to a family death. I called two months later, and faxed the paper that day. The next day I receive an e-mail stating that they had none of the paperwork that I had turned in. (This paperwork was tax forms with mine and my fathers S.S. number, Fist/last name, Address, Ect.). Because of Baker I am now trying to figure out how to prevent fraud to my credit and taxes... Thank you Baker College of Owosso...
