Red Boucher and his family came to Alaska after his service in the Navy. They settled in Fairbanks in 1958 after John F. Kennedy, whom he campaigned for, told him there was great potential in the far north territory. He founded the Fairbanks Goldpanners baseball team in the 1960s, setting up the roots of the Alaska Baseball League. He served on the Fairbanks City Council before becoming mayor in 1966. Alaska Space Grant Program- Undergraduate
The Alaska Space Grant Program (ASGP) is a consortium of public and private universities and non-profit organizations that sponsors a broad range of programs to enhance teaching, research, and educational outreach within aerospace and earth science, and other NASA related STEM disciplines throughout Alaska. The Alaska Space Grant Program (ASGP) was established at the University of Alaska Fairbanks in 1991 under a Phase II Program Grant from NASA’s National Space Grant College and Fellowship Program.
Alaska Curiosity Scholarship
The Alaska Curiosity Scholarship is available for high school seniors and college students in Alaska who submit an original video on of the topics posted at the Kelley & Canterbury, LLC website.
Wanda Munn Scholarship (SWE Eastern Washington Section)
This award is open to re-entry/non-traditional female students who plan to major in engineering and have completed two or more years of full-time credits (does not have to be in an engineering curriculum). Students must reside or attend school in Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, or Washington, and have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
SWE Region J Scholarship
This scholarship is open to female re-entry/non-traditional students who are majoring in engineering or computer science and are members of SWE. Students must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher and attend an institution within the SWE Region J boundaries.
BBB Northwest Students of Integrity Scholarship
This scholarship is available for U.S. high school seniors in Alaska, Oregon, and Western Washington State. To apply, applicants must submit an original video that educates consumers about common business and financial scams.
AIST Northwestern Member Chapter Scholarships
This scholarship is available for U.S. high school seniors and undergraduate students in the Pacific North West (Alaska, Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming) who are planning to major in engineering and pursue a career in iron and steel technology. Applicants must be AIST members or dependents of AIST members.
Paul Hagelbarger Memorial Scholarship Fund
This scholarship is open to U.S. college juniors and seniors and graduate students who are pursuing a degree in accounting at a four-year institution in Alaska. Scholastic achievement and financial need will be considered in the selection process.
Dorothy Hendricks Endowment Scholarship
