Undergraduate students attending Prescott College in Arizona planning to pursue a course of study in writing, literature or journalism are eligible for this award. Preference will be given to a student whose legal place of residence is southeast Texas (Jefferson, Orange, Tyler, Newton, and Hardin counties) and/or a student who is a member of an ethnic minority group.

R. Marlin Smith-Babcock-Williams Student Writing Competition for Law Students
This writing competition is open to U.S. students who are enrolled at an ABA-accredited law school. Students must submit a paper of no more than 45 pages on a question of significance in planning, planning law, land use law, local government law, or environmental law.
BHD Endowed Scholarship Fund for Teachers
This award is available for permanent residents of Maryland with an interest in a teaching career. Candidates must have an undergraduate degree in the liberal arts, sciences or mathematics and be pursuing a master’s degree in education.

ALSC Frederic G. Melcher Scholarship
Graduate students who have completed no more than 12 hours in an approved MLS/MLIS program while attending an ALA-accredited school are eligible for this award. Eligible students must be U.S. or Canadian citizens and plan to work in a library in an area of service to children.
ALSC Bound to Stay Bound Books Scholarship
U.S. and Canadian citizens who are pursuing master’s degrees in library and information studies at ALA-accredited library schools are eligible for this award; students may not have completed more than 12 hours toward the degree at time of application. Applicants must plan to work in a library in an area of service to children.
Iowa Scholarship for the Arts
This scholarship is available for Iowa students who have graduated this year and will be attending an Iowa college. Students must have proven artistic ability in dance, literature, music, theatre, traditional arts, or the visual arts, and major in one of those areas.
Bobette Bibo Gugliotta Memorial Scholarship for Creative Writing
This award is available for U.S. undergraduate students who have an interest in and pursue a career in the field of creative writing. Students must attend or have graduated from a high school located in San Mateo County or northern Santa Clara County (Daly City through Mountain View) and must be a resident of California.
