**Review of Parker University’s Doctor of Chiropractic Program** My experience at Parker University’s Doctor of Chiropractic program has been undeniably challenging and memorable, though not without its frustrations. The curriculum is rigorous, and while this intensity has its merits, it often feels like the program is designed more to push students toward burnout than to encourage growth and success. The structure of the education system can be disheartening, with unclear expectations and limited support, which often leaves students feeling discouraged rather than motivated. Financially, the program is a significant burden. The cost of tuition is steep, and the expense doesn’t stop there—the prices for on-campus food and other living essentials add to the financial strain. This has made it difficult to fully focus on my studies without constantly worrying about the financial aspect of student life. However, the challenges have also been a learning experience in themselves. The demanding environment has forced me to develop resilience and resourcefulness, skills that will undoubtedly benefit me in the future. I've learned the importance of perseverance, self-advocacy, and the ability to overcome obstacles in the face of adversity. While I believe Parker University’s Doctor of Chiropractic program could greatly benefit from improvements in support and structure, the difficulties I’ve encountered here have shaped me in unexpected ways. The experience, though trying, has pushed me to grow both personally and professionally.

Parker University, like many educational institutions, has navigated through the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic. While the university is commendable in its efforts, it is evident that improvements could enhance the overall learning experience post-COVID. One aspect deserving attention is the transition to online learning. The abrupt shift to remote education during the pandemic was challenging for both students and faculty. The university's response may have been adequate given the circumstances, but a comprehensive post-COVID plan for blended or online learning could be devised. This entails investing in upgraded technology, robust training for educators, and fostering an interactive online community.

This is a great school for learning chiropractic. The staff are friendly and there are always fun things going on at the campus. I am very grateful this school is close to where I am. There are many studies that move across the country for this education.

Rachel - 09/11/2019

The campus is small and parking can be annoying for the growing class sizes. But its the people that make the school amazing. Upper and lower trimester students are always willing to help with classes and materials. You're not alone, the entire school supports you and will be there for you and your challenges.

  7. What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

I would tell myself to focus and press hard for my dreams now, because as age sets in, so does the different challenges and realities of life. I would also tell myself not to focus on the mixing with the in crowds, and mix with the books. I would let myself know how extremely challenging the world is, and grades, determination, and attitude is all that will see you through.

The stereotype of really healthy competitive people

  9. What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?

The price of the school is far greater than the average Middle Class American's salary. I have addressed this with many people at the university, but they believe it allows those who are determined to graduate to apply. If I were to speak to a future prospect, I would certainly ask them to weight this heavily.
