Madeline - 11/23/2024

As a community college, Olympic offers a decent education and serves as a good place to start your college adventures. I found it fairly easy to get into the classes I needed, and I was also pleasantly surprised by the variety of classes available for my electives.

Melanie-Anne - 06/20/2020

Olympic College gave me an emotional home as I learned what college education was like. The staff members are fairly friendly and the environment is more about learning than anything else. I've never had a true sense of community before Olympic College, but now I feel sad to leave it when I graduate. I feel happy overall that I've found a wonderful College to attend.

Madeline - 05/12/2020

I love this college. It is very safe, and there are some of the kindest and most helpful teachers you will ever meet at this school.

Daisey - 12/16/2019

Olympic College is a great place to start off. The professors are very gracious with students for the most part and they want to see you succeed. The classes are nice, the views around are nice, and the students are nice as well! I would highly recommend Olympic College if you’re looking for somewhere to start off at.

  2. What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

If I were to go back in time and give myself advice on the future I would have told myself that working towards a goal, whether something specific or just something general, has the most amazing effect on your attitude and spirit. Bettering yourself through school just makes you feel so proud of yourself and it really does show you that the possibilities are endless. I would have told myself not to give up my hobbies just because I had to become a working adult and that hard work pays off in the long run. I would have told myself that going to college exposes you to so many new and wonderful life experiences. New friends, smart teachers with information they are just dying to share, new ways of thinking about how life, the world, and people work, and most of all something to look forward to every day. I would have told myself that college is the perfect way to explore my options for what I want to do with my future and that I would love every minute of it, minus those finals!

  4. What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?

If I could go back to give myself advise for college I would tell myself to get involved in as many programs as I can like robotics. I would also tell myself to put my xbox in a cardboard box and don't touch it. I would warn myself about my future dorm-mates and say to get your own fridge with a lock on it and the library has superb study rooms on the bottom floor. Most importantly I would tell myself not to give up.

  5. What kind of person should not attend this school?

Its hard to imagine who shouldn't attend this school it has so much diversity of races ethnicity, age and handicap. Therefore I believe the person who really shouldn't attend this school, is someone who isn't willing to accept diversity formost. A biggot ,racist or elitist attitude will clearly make that student an offense to his or her classmates. The student who has an issue in this reguard will not enjoy campus life himself and probably make him or herself isolated in relation to any interaction among his or her peers. It would be wise to enroll elsewhere.

  10. Here's your chance: Say anything about your college!

Olympic college is located close to my parents home in Port Orchard and the olympic pennisula. Olympic College also supports the Department of defense training of DOD civilians through an apprentice/ helper program which makes it unique because of the type of students it attracts " the veteran". Olympic college is in an economic environment that is healthy mainly from the defense industry and also has an attractive almost rural quality where students feel safe and confident to learn. I enjoy the interesting campus diversity of students, faculty and the quiet serenity of the campus layout. I recommend O.C. always!

  12. What are the most popular student activities/groups?

For me personally, the engineering club is awesome! They have several projects that they work on throughout the school year and raise their own money for each one. Last year they had a dunk tank to raise money for more projects! There are also several different clubs for various internet and console games, and even just gaming in general. All of the clubs are very inviting and want students to get involved in the school.

Being able to delve deeper into any subject while saving loads of time. The teachers at Olympic College are also phenomenal! Every teacher at Olympic College wants to see each student succeed in their own way. The kind of person who should attend Olympic College is someone who is driven and motivated. Community Colleges take more initiative from students because they have to plan their own schedule, get to the campus on time for their classes, and plan their day out a little more than those students who live on campus at their college.
