From what I seen Ferrum College is an amazing place. It is in the mountains with beautiful scenery all around. The faculty are great, they show lots of love and kindness that goes around campus. There are a lot of activities around the college for everyone to do since the school is very diverse. The faculty respects everyone and treats everyone nicely. They care about academics more than sports because they care about the students life after college. I am exited to go there fall 2024!

Anna - 05/01/2020

The gorgeous yet small campus made me feel excited to start attending the college and their dedication to openness and education made college based decisions less scary. The class sizes were ideal and I feel like I will be able to shine under the tutelage provided.

Ferrum is a good school to go to, if you really want that home vibe and you want to be comfortable with where you are. The food isn’t all the great like it could be better if they had more options. There’s a lot of stuff to do here on campus usually. Everyone is so nice and they will remember your face and speak to you, the people here are amazing and the teachers want to see you strive to be the best that’s why we have a lot of tutoring sessions with teachers or your peers that were in the same predicament as you are. It’s amazing that’s all I can say

David - 05/11/2019

It is a very beautiful campus where there are numerous amounts of tutors and professors at you service. There shouldn't be an excuse for your grades to be low because there is so much help on campus. The students there are very fun and cool to be around. Also sports at Ferrum College are very competitive, no matter if it is intramurals or during the season.

Ferrum College FAQS

  2. What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

All my life education has been something that I felt was a privilege, especially knowing all of the people that don’t get a chance to go to school. There are so many things in this world to learn about and college opened the door to an abundance of information that I could have never learned in high school. College introduces you to the world in a way that adolescents, like myself , can understand and absorb to use as a guide for our success. Everyone says we are the future, but I don’t feel there can be a good future without institutions like colleges. College provided me with hope that maybe the world isnt so hard to take on, and it is possibble to succeed in life. College provides me with the perfect median that anyone my age would need. As a senior in high school, I was afraid to leave because I felt the world would chew me up and spit me out with no remorse. College gives me confidence through knowledge, and I feel like the world is my backyard. College showed me that you can only fail if you give up on what you want.

There is an annual Folk Life festval that Ferrum is know for around that area. Thousands of people come out every year to experience the original customs of the people in the Appalachian area. I guess you can say that the natural and cultural beauty of the area is what gets people to go there.
