Out of the all the school that I've been accepted to so far, I'm really glad i chose Utah Valley University for my future, overall the environment is very inviting and fun, deciding what college to go to was really hard for me, but as I kept reading into Utah Valley University I realized that this school was the best fit for me.

It is a good school with a lot of people from diverse backgrounds. There's not just one mold of people at UVU- everyone is unique, coming from totally different perspectives. I enjoy the level of involvement any student is able to have in extracurriculars, and I love how hard the campus works to be accessible and make sure people have the information they need to succeed. The cheap tuition is also a big perk! It can be pretty hard to find housing- I recommend applying as soon as you know where you're going. Try getting into the Honor's College if you can, they also have good housing and connection opportunities. Overall, this is a great school, one I would definitely check out if I were you!

I enjoy UVU, the school is active in extra activities and a lot of students are welcoming. Professors are easy to work with, and the campus is huge. UVU has a lot of different career choices to choose from and have amazing programs that come with those majors. Overall, it is an intelligent school.

It’s a great school! The teachers are willing to help the students and if you put in the work to study with your peers you will excel in your studies. It is a also a wonderful place to receive council in your schooling, career path and life in general. I will always remember the people I met here.

  2. What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

I have gotten a amazing amount of knowledge in a surprisingly short amount of time. The professors, instructors and students make learning and practicing new skills easy and comfortable. I'm currently in an EMT Basic class for my Emergency Service major and the life saving skills I have learned with stick with me for the rest of my life. They could help me save a life in the future and it'll be because of my college experience. I've also learned how to be responsible and proactive. School is difficult and I believe that if you can get through school, you can do anything.

  5. Describe the students at your school.

My classmates are not the brightest bunch of people I've met, but they are very pleasant and great people. There seems to be a lack of effort when it comes to their education, but I would put that down to the diversity at this school. Tuition is cheap and the University is a good place for not getting into debt, however I have met people with a wide range of educational backgrounds. Overall, the people are very agreeable and the environment and atmosphere is a good one.

  6. What's unique about your campus?

Utah Valley University is still not widely known, however it is growing far beyond what was expected. It has become one of the largest schools in Utah. The wide range of people who attend and most definitely the quality of education recieved is one of the best. Although there are many students enrolled, it does not result in overcrowding in classes. Almost all classes have thirty students or less making it an easier learning enviroment.

  7. What do you brag about most when you tell your friends about your school?

UVU has been a wonderful college for me in the time that I've been there. I absolutely love the diversity of people you can find there. While you do expect to find a wide array of students and professors at any college, I think Utah, and Utah county specificially, has a much higher expectation of not being as diversified. The overwhelming number of residents in the area have very similar religious and political beliefs. But at UVU, I've always felt like every group is well represented and the mix of people compliments each other perfectly.

  12. What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?

I wish I had known to look at ratemyprofessor.com before I had come to UVU. When I started college down at Snow there weren't that many options for teachers so even if they got a bad rating there wasn't much you could do about it, so I never bothered making it a habit. However my last semester I picked a teacher that received a 1.6 on the rating and I failed his class. It was an awful semester for me so I wish I had known to constantly check the website.

The best part of campus life at UVU is the clubs and different organizations to get involved with. There's so much variety and it's easy to get involved with many. The worst part is that there is little school loyalty so there's not a ton of school pride, which is really too bad.

  17. What is your overall opinion of this school?

One of the best things about Utah Valley University is the overall willingness of the staff. I am never concerned if I am having a problem with registration, or if I may need a little extra time on an assignment. The staff is always willing to help me out and go the extra mile to do so. The best part about it, is that they are always willing to help with a smile.

  18. What are the most popular student activities/groups?

For the most part, UVU is not really a party school in my opinion. My sister went to UGA, and I can tell you that it was ranked the number 1 party school in the USA quite a few times. Generally when I am hanging out near campus, I like to go to In and Out burger in Provo, or snowboarding (which I did last weekend). I believe like anything, sports is among on of the most popular activities on campus. I feel we have a good basketball team!

  19. What are the academics like at your school?

The academics are excellent. I began attending Utah Valley University because two of my closest friends graduated from there, and had nothing but positive things to say. After my first semester, I was already spreading the word, and 3 of my friends registered for classes there. One of them has already graduated! The professors are top notch and the class structure is very enjoyable. It makes learning fun, and I'm not so intimidated being in a University setting.
