Seton is one of best school in New Jersey, ,from having conducive teaching environment to Professors /Administrators always putting the interest of the students first. There are also tons of availability of internships ,in school student work that incoming students often look out for when applying to universities. Not forgetting the Extracurricular activities in the school,events,sports and cultural display day as the School is known to welcome International students from different parts of the world. I must Confess ,Seton Hall is the school for all..APPLY NOW.

Seton Hall is a tremendous school for higher education. If you are looking for a smaller school with the same big-name university stature, then Seton Hall will probably be a good fit. As an international relations major, I am consistently challenged intellectually both in and out of the classroom. Not only can you have an in-depth analytical conversation in class, but professors and fellow students are always willing to engage with you intellectually any time of the day. If college sports are your thing, Seton Hall's membership in the Big East provides it student population with excellent Division 1 play in almost every sport. Finally, there cannot be enough said about the Seton Hall community. People on campus are always so kind and welcoming, and there always seems to be a community feel to the campus. I truly recommend Seton Hall for anyone whose interests align with the ones I have explained, and anyone who is seeking an excellent university education in a great location. The school is conveniently located just minutes from New York City and other centers making internship and job search much more accessible.

I am currently a senior at Seton Hall double majoring in Diplomacy and International Relations, and Economics. During my time at Seton Hall, I have been able to grow as a student and as a person. Being a diplomacy student, the small class sizes and emphasis on a discussion based course structure helped me get to know my fellow class mates and professors. Professors are knowledgeable and often have career experience which is a valuable resource, especially if you need recommendations. It also helped me become more comfortable at public speaking, which I was able to utilize more when I became involved in Model UN. There are many, diverse student run clubs and organizations you can become a part of; in which you meet new people and can eventually pursue a leadership position. Lastly, the Career Center helps student with resumes, applications, and interview practice, which helped me get an internship! Seton Hall gave me a supportive environment so I could pursue all of these things.

  2. What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

    What does every high school student want to hear? The ideal answer: Yes! Of course! You are completely correct! I know that is what I wanted to hear. I thought I knew it all! Growing up, every person realizes the mistakes they made and sometimes regret not listening to the people that tried to talk some sense into them. However, if I could go back in time and talk to myself as a high school senior, I would tell myself to keep doing exactly what I am doing. The process of hearing and accepting other people's advice helped me grow as a person and realize that there is more to know know compared to all that I claim to already know. The only change I would want to instill in myself is to learn that time managment really is important as everyone says it is. I would also tell myself to keep listening to other people's advice, but still do what my heart desires, after all, that is how I ended up completing this survey!

    I really like how there are many different buildings on campus for each major. It may seem like a small school, but there are so many buildings that it feels like you are in your own little world. We take a lot of pride in our basketball team along with the other sports offered here. We have small classes and it really help grab the attention of the student. I also loved how the Nursing program was highly exalted. SHU prides themselves of having a great Nrursing program so that is what helped me choose SHU over the other schools.

    People should not look to attend Seton Hall if they are expecting a huge campus and just looking to go to parties. The campus itself is safe, but the surrounding area is not that great, so if you are looking for a safe environment outside of campus, I would not suggest this school.

  12. What's the most frustrating thing about your school?

    Seton Hall is generally great - however, dealing with your advisor will make or break your experience. Many of my friends loved their advisors. I happened to be Pre-Med. The PreMed "Committee" is comprised of only one professor who is unkind and may or may not absolutely refuse to write a recommendation letter for you. There is a way around this, however. If you're dealing with someone uncooperative, stop the problem immediately and get a new advisor - there are plenty of really great faculty and staff members who would be much more willing to help.

  13. Describe your favorite campus traditions.

    They are best known for their basketball team. They over emphasize everyones "school spirit" for the games and in general. The "school spirit" feels very forced and not a lot of people go to the games unless we're in the playoffs or something.

  14. What are the academics like at your school?

    Academics here at Seton Hall are challenging, but in just the right format to keep the students active in their education. In my program, nursing, the professors are always on hand to help the students succeed. In fact, one of my professor stayed extra time after class to help me clarify and practice a concept that was very difficult for me to grasp. Furthermore, my program educates students for the purpose of learning. If you do not get a good grade in a certain class, you are still guaranteed to walk out knowing a variety of information that you didn't before. My favorite class is tough since I have had so many awesome classes here. However, if I had to choose, it would be my Health Assessment class. This class is geared at preparing student nurses for the hospital environment by educating them in vital signs and interacting with patients on a healthcare basis. Students here are dedicated to the point where studying is a common habit, yet there are still plenty of events offered here that can help one relax when studying gets to be a bit too much. For my program, the academic requirements are perfect since they prepare one for success in nursing. The requirement of at least a C in my classes drives the competition to go above and beyond in striving for success.

  17. What are the most popular student activities/groups?

    SHU boasts over 100 clubs and organizations on campus for almost every major as well as plenty of social or community orgs. We have plenty of sororities and frats including service, social, and academic greek organizations. The Bball games are popular as well as the soccer games. Our student activities board is always host some kind of event from open mic nights to broadway show for $20 to dances year round. There's a movie theater right down the street as well as the train station so if nothing's happening on campus there's other stuff to do nearby. You can go out to eat at the nearby restaurants, hit up the theater, or go to NYC. You're only bored if you want to be, there will be someone doing something and because the community is so small you'll hear about it, or know someone who's going.

  19. Is the stereotype of students at your school accurate?

    Yea, I mean you will the the typical "Jersey Girl" or "Guido" roaming around campus and the whole "diplo dork" thing is pretty accurate. We're diplo students who enjoy discussing what we're learning and we are all dorks to some extent. So I'd say they are accurate but not all students or even the majority of our students fall into a stereotype.

  20. Why did you decide to go to this school?

    My family lives in Philadelphia and I wanted to be close enough to them where I could visit for vacations yet I would still feel some independence. Also, it's extremely close to New York City.

  21. What are your classes like?

    My classes have from 20 to 35 students in them with one class, a psychology course, that has about 60 students in it. All of my teachers know me personally which is really great and helpful. The classes are very interactive.

All students must apply yearly for financial aid. This process starts with the FAFSA. Though financial aid deadlines vary by school, it is a good idea to apply as soon as possible. For the upcoming school year, you can apply as early as October 1 for the FAFSA. Additional school aid will be dependent on the FAFSA results.
