What should every freshman at your school know before they start?
I suppose it would have to begin with a short story; as a highscool senior, college was not something I even considered. Coming from a family who has never gone to college nor pushed education strongly at all, I had other desires. Working fresh out of highschool taught me quickly that the world is not so kind to those who are not educated, and so I took it upon myself to head back to school. I wish I could've told my highschool self to try harder. I did not have any motivation to do well in school and indeed, felt as though school was not fun at all. However, after completing my first degree with plans to attend a higher university, I can say without a doubt - it was the most beautiful experience of my life. In essences, all I wish I could've had told myself was to try... as I find that is the most important aspect of doing work - all you have to do is try.

What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?
Having gotten used to the words of my peers telling me that college resources and offices were there for students' immediate use, I was expecting that to be true. That is not the case. I understand that the school employees have a job to keep; however, students come first. I should not have to keep calling and leavings messages to get a simple question answered. The worst thing about me school is that I have to wait DAYS before I have help.

The location. If I lived next door it would be perfect, but because I ride my bike and I live in the desert, its hot and I get to campus a little sweaty. Other than that, I really like my school.

What kind of person should attend this school?
I am usually one of the oldest in any of my classes being 30. I always feel like I am at a high school..it is not a bad thing, but the atmosphere is like that. I work full time to pay for my schooling, and work very hard for my GPA. I am proud to say our school has one of the best science programs on the west coast, and we have very high standards for our science and medical programs. People with dedication should come here, this school is way underrated by the attendees.

What are the academics like at your school?
To be honest even my least favorite class (physics) the teacher was really cool and fair to the students.
Class participation is pretty good, the classes are not as large as at the university here, 30 people verses 300 people. You can interact with the teacher and have your questions answered.
Students being competitive... Not really. Everyone is on their own path, and that can foster cooperation.
My major is cardiac medical diagnostic sonography. This program accepts 10 students a year. Scores are based on GPA, test scores, volunteering, and shadowing. More competitive just because of limited students accepted.
I have never spent time outside of class with a professor. However, most of them are very good at email communication.
