Florida Gateway College REVIEWS

What's your overall opinion of Florida Gateway College?

This college's student body consists of more seasoned students. The younger generation's that attend the college are tending to stay online. However the Campus Activities and Student Government push really hard to bring what the students want to the college. Last year our Student Activities Board threw a party for all of the students. It was amazing. 10/10 would recommend.

I think that Florida Gateway College is a great school. It has a very great atmosphere. It is very laid back and very simple. It doesn't have a lot going on like other schools and universities, but if you want to get your degree at a small college campus with very little hassle, I recommend Florida Gateway.

Anastasyia - 04/25/2019

My overall opinion of Florida Gateway College is that it's a nice school. I learn a lot whether it's in the classroom or with my adviser. There are numerous amounts of ways for help on campus. We have the Student Success Center, where you go for help on any subject. We have tutors available on campus and online. I feel motivated when I'm at school and I'm glad that I chose to come to Florida Gateway College.

Florida gateway college is an adequate school. It is a small town community college, mostly commuters. Staff is always there to help and will put in the work to make sure each student grasps material. Good place to go to school. Wish lake city was more developed but all in all if you are in the area and trying to better yourself. Gateway will help you get there.

Florida Gateway College FAQS

  1. What is the Acceptance Rate at Florida Gateway College?

The fall 2020 acceptance rate for Florida Gateway College is 100%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020 , _____ students were offered admission. The number of males who applied was _____ vs the number of females which was _____.

  2. What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

If I could go back in time and talk to myself as a high school senior, there would be plenty for me to say. I would tell myself to get off my butt and put some scholarships in. My parents and I do not make much money, so that would help. I would tell myself to get a waiver from the school and pay the application fee. FSU? UF? UNF? UWF? Stetson? Flager? Go somewhere! Please try! You know you want to be in marching band in college, so what are you doing? You want the college experience? Then apply! I would also tell myself to try to learn how to cook and do laundry because if I do get accepted, I would have to learn. I would have to learn to go out of my comfort zone. The last thing I would tell myself would be to CHECK MY EMAILS. ALL OF THEM. I recently checked them and found out two universities wanted me and I could not go. My life would be very different if I could go back. I am happy where I am at though, just wish I could do more.

  3. What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?

The school's only downfall in my mind is that it has a bookstore that is just not up to par. The bookstore is very small, and if you do not arrive the day books are available, you typically have to wait for more books to be ordered.

I think the main kinda of people that should attend Lake City Community College are the people who want to major in nursing, welding, or get an EMT. That's a very popular major at Lake City Community College and it would not be hard to find people to study with and share the same classes or text books together.

My school has upgraded from a 2 year commmunity college to a 4 year state university and serves 7 surrounding counties. This is a very rural but solid community of people that want the best for themselves and their children. Even though these are not easy times for the education system , this part of Florida (North Central) is willing to invest and look forward to a prosperous and green energy future so that our way of life will continue in the sunshine.
