The 'Free City' program is incomparable. There are multiple campus locations which is great depending on where the student lives in relation to location. Sometimes, registration can be frustrating, but staff members are available to help. There are many opportunities in this community college to engage in extracurricular activities, but San Francisco is a busy city itself, a short public transit ride away, and full of opportunities to engage in community.

Two words. Free Tuition. The City College of San Francisco, or City as we call it here in San Francisco is one of the most inexpensive Community Colleges in the United States. Upside to being in the best city in the world, the downside is the cold you will have to face arriving on campus. Low 50s and foggy weather are your enemies so be prepared to face them head on.

Enrolling as a freshman online student due to the pandemic, and also being an out-of-state student, my opinion is based only on my experiences with the online learning system the school provides. However, I must say that this school really prioritizes not only my academics but also my personal life. They took the time to understand my living situation and constructed an educational plan with me that not only will help in my transfer to a 4-year college in the future but also was manageable to do while juggling personal life as well.

From my experience, City College of San Francisco is a place where you can get things done on your own time and with careful planning and signing up for things on time, you work school into whatever schedule you have. Classes can range from extremely easy to extremely hard depending on your professor. 99% of the classes are manageable and are taught at a reasonable level. Extremely good return on investment regardless if you live in the city and don't pay anything or you live outside the city. I recommend going to City College of San Francisco if you have no idea where you want to go or if you just want to save money.
