Description: This scholarship is available for student who have graduated or will graduate with their associate's degree who are eligible for DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) or TPS (Temporary Protected Status). Students must demonstrate significant financial need, have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher, and attend one of TheDream.US's partner colleges.

Additional Information: TheDream.US Scholarship Program awards scholarships to Dreamers who have DACA or TPS status and who have demonstrated significant unmet financial need and the determination to succeed in college and in life. Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of significant financial need, academic promise, and determination to succeed. These scholarships are intended for students who do not have the resources to finance their education without substantial financial support. Applicants must also apply for all other forms of financial aid for which they may be eligible. Recipients will be notified in April. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients. Students may reapply in future scholarship rounds if they meet eligibility requirements.

Award Amount: Up to $8,250 annually, renewable for up to four years or until a bachelor's degree is completed, whichever comes first. The amount is provided as up to $7,250 in tuition assistance and up to $1,000 per year as a stipend to assist with books, living expenses, and other non-tuition costs associated with college. The amount of each award will be based on the current tuition, fees, and estimated cost of books charged by the participating college in which the scholar enrolls. Using an extended amount of time will not increase the amount of the scholarship In order to remain eligible to receive the scholarship, the recipient must meet the following criteria: maintain a cumulative grade point average of "B" (3.0) or better; remain continuously enrolled at least part time (six credit hours); remain current on all college accounts and charges; remain DACA eligible, reapply for DACA or TPS approval as required, and upon re-application, provide Scholarship America with a copy of the receipt for his/her DACA or TPS application or his/her DACA or TPS approval letter; and meet other program commitments outlined in the award letter.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $33,000.
